[Top 10] Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Best Ultimate Attacks

These things hurt, ask Cell! Oh wait...

You’ve landed a guard break and your Ki bar is full, it’s time for an Ultimate Attack!

Ultimate Attacks are the hyper-powerful cards in every player’s deck that can turn the tide of a battle. After learning them from the in-game masters or buying them in Conton City, Ultimate Attacks can be equipped and used in battle for more Ki than supers but with massive payoff

Not all Ultimate Attacks are made the same, however. Some exhaust less Ki than others, some inflict greater harm and others don’t do any damage at all! With special effects, range, and other factors at play there’s a lot to think about when firing Ultimate Attacks on characters or CaCs.

Fortunately, you won’t have to go sifting through your skill list and dropping into matches to conduct your own research because I’ve already done it for you! With my skill and history with Xenoverse, I’ve compiled the Top Ten Best Ultimate Attacks in the game!

10. X100 Big Bang Kamehameha - Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta (Good)

See x100 Big Bang Kamehameha in action

Used by the Saiyan fusion Gogeta, the x100 Big Bang Kamehameha is a combination of Goku’s Kamehameha wave and Vegeta’s Big Bang attack making this Ki blast far more powerful than either. This move can be obtained by completing Parallel Quest 100: The Ultimate Rivalry.

A mid-range beam doing 50% damage over 24 hits costing five bars of Ki to use makes the Big Bang Kamehameha an expensive attack to employ but with decent return on the damage, so clearly I must have been hit with it for this move to rank so low right? Wrong.

While powerful this move doesn’t have the range of many of the other entities and with a mid-speed startup time, it’s unsafe to throw out this attack unless the opponent has been stunned with a block break or a combo.

x100 Big Bang Kamehameha review

  • Decent damage and firing animation
    • 50% damage in only 24 hits is a potent  trait even amongst ultimates
  • Mid-startup and range
    • While not exactly slow this move has enough startup time to give an alert player the chance to fly out of range or even block break the opponent.
  • Obtained very late game
    • This move is only obtainable through either TP medals or Parallel Quest 100 which can even then be hard to obtain after doing the final mission over and over again.

x100 Big Bang Kamehameha details

  • Used by Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta and SSGSS Gogeta
  • Lock-on can be switched off to sweep from side to side while firing

9. Break Cannon - Nappa (Good)

See Break Cannon in action

Used by the rageful Saiyan, Nappa, the Break Cannon is a powerful ki blast spewed from the mouth that explodes upon impact and does massive damage. This ultimate is obtainable by either training with Nappa or buying the skill in Conton City.

The Break Cannon despite being shown so early in the manga and being available relatively early in the game is a deceptively useful attack. Doing 15% damage over 15 hits at its base the Break Cannon inflicts knockback, can be used best a mid-range, and consumes three bars of Ki upon use. The main issue with Break Cannon is that the start-up is very obvious.

The user cracks their knuckles and leans forward before firing the beam, giving an alert opponent time to move out of its path.

Break Cannon review

  • Low Ki cost
    • Only costs three bars of Ki and can be used in succession.
  • Available early game
    • Obtained from training with Nappa or purchased, this ultimate is fairly powerful for how early it’s available.
  • Telegraphed start-up
    • The knuckle-cracking animation is almost universally recognizable by players which gives them a window of opportunity.

Break Cannon details

  • Used by Nappa
  • Minor tracking right before firing

8. Final Kamehameha - Vegito (Good)

See Final Kamehameha in action

Used by the deadly Saiyan fusion Vegito, the Final Kamehameha is a combination of the iconic Final Flash and the equally memorable Kamehameha resulting in a Ki wave that surpasses the power of both and put in nasty work against Fused Zamasu.

Obtainable in Parallel Quest 91 or via purchase in the TP medal shop the Final Kamehamehacosts a whopping five bars of Ki to use. The beam is long-range, does 40% damage across 22 hits, and inflicts heavy knockback. The beam itself is also massive and once fired isn’t nearly impossible to evade at close range.

Final Kamehameha review

  • Large hitbox
    • This beam is huge and if used at close range on a stunned opponent is almost guaranteed to land.
  • Massive damage
    • 40% damage across 22 hits is no joke, especially if this move is used with certain stat-boosting souls.
  • Long charge-up and stun requirement
    • Because of this ultimate’s start-up and hit properties it’s almost required that the opponent be stunned or knocked back before attempting this move, especially with the Ki cost.

Final Kamehameha details

  • Used by Vegito and SSGSS Vegito
  • Damage increased by Kamehameha or ki blast boosting items or souls

7. Body Change - Captain Ginyu (Good)

See Body Change in action

Used by the villainous Captain Ginyu during the Namek Saga this ultimate does exactly as the name implies and switches your body with the target. It posed an issue for the Z fighters on Namek but its terror was thankfully defeated after Ginyu accidentally switched himself with a frog.

Obtained by training with Captain Ginyu, Body Change is available after the Namek saga and functions as a grab that after hitting the opponent will hold them in place until both players have swapped. Ki, health, and stamina are all swapped as well as character movesets which makes this ultimate dangerous because if the user is losing a battle they could quickly turn the tide by swapping with their opponent.

One of the funniest uses of this ultimate is to let the enemy wail on you until your health is low and then swap with them so that they are stuck in your broken body. The biggest issue with Body Change is that it can’t be used in PvE environments

Body Change review

  • Can be used as a healing move
    • If your opponent's health is way higher than yours then landing a Body Change is essentially the same as healing.
  • Low Ki cost
    • Body Change only costs 3 bars of Ki so even if your hand is revealed after a miss you have the opportunity to try again and again.
  • Cannot be used in PvE
    • Body Change can’t help against bosses or A.I. It can only be used in team or 1v1 scenarios sadly.

Body Change details

  • Used by Captain Ginyu
  • Upon a Body Change any transformations will be deactivated but you can re-transform

6. Super Kamehameha - Son Goku (Good)

See Super Kamehameha in action

Probably the most iconic attack in animanga history, the Super Kamehameha is a superpowered version of the Kamehameha wave that decimates enemies and has helped protect the earth time and time again.

Unlocked via training with Goku this move comes out quickly and slams into the opponent for a multi-hit attack that does massive damage. The beam itself is massive, costs little ki to use, inflicts heavy knockback and a bit of stun, and on top of all that has little end lag which makes the move highly spammable.

Anyone who’s had to face Goku and Gohan at the same time can attest to how annoying this move can be when spammed and it’s this high damage potential mixed with its low cost of use that places this ultimate where it is.

Super Kamehameha review

  • Low end lag and startup
    • This move starts and ends quickly, giving the opponent little time to react even if they do evade it.
  • Massive hitbox
    • This ultimate is huge and not easily dodged on short notice.
  • Obvious animation/voice line
    • The charging animation and voice line for this ultimate completely gives it away, even if you don’t see the move charging you’ll certainly hear it.

Super Kamehameha details

  • Used by Goku, Gohan, Gogeta, and many others
  • Costs 400 ki for DBS Superhero Gohan

5. Final Shine Attack - Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta (Excellent)

See Final Shine Attack in action

After receiving help from his wife Bulma, Vegeta transformed into a great ape before ascending to Super Saiyan 4 where he joined Goku in the battle against Omega Shenron. The Final Shine Attack is a Ki wave he used during the encounter.

This ultimate is obtained through purchase from the TP medal shop but is more than worth the purchase because of its overwhelming destructive power.

The user raises their right hand and fires a long-range beam that does 30% damage across nine hits in its basic form but at max output can deal a disgusting 90% damage over 45 hits. In base, this move uses 3 bars of Ki but uses more if the firing command is pressed again to continue attacking.

Final Shine Attack review

  • Horrifying damage
    • 90% damage is nothing to play with and the variable output of the ultimate is a nice touch, especially for missed attacks.
  • Easily obtainable
    • You don’t have to worry about playing the same quest over and over for this one! You can head straight to the TP shop and buy it at your leisure.
  • Long start-up
    • Outside of a knockback, stun, or heavy stamina break, if you get hit by the Shine Attack it is entirely your fault.

Final Shine Attack details

  • Used by Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta, Vegeta (GT), and Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta
  • Variable Ki cost

4. X4 Kaioken Kamehameha - Son Goku (Excellent)

See X4 Kaioken Kamehameha in action

Used by Son Goku in his battle against Vegeta, the X4 Kamehameha is a more powerful version of the iconic Ki wave which is achieved by going into Kaioken before using the attack.

Obtained through purchase in the skill shop this long-range ultimate deals 30% damage costing 3 bars of Ki but can do an extra 20% for an extra bar of Ki for a total of 50% damage.

The main reason this ultimate ranks so high is because of its criminally short startup time, the blast comes out almost instantly with a massive hitbox and the opponent has no time to react. The start-up time is so short that it can even be combo’d into with normal attacks!

The only real drawback for this ultimate is that after firing the user is left tired for three seconds but the exchange is more than worth it.

X4 Kaioken Kamehameha review

  • Insanely short start-up time
    • There is essentially no start-up or animation for this move beyond the energy appearing in your hand and your character turning to blast the enemy.
  • Decent damage
    • Losing 50% of your health against a move that comes out almost instantly can feel cheap but only if you’re the target.
  • Exhaustion
    • The three seconds of vulnerability you’ll experience after using this move seems fair considering the speed at which it fires.

X4 Kaioken Kamehameha details

  • Can be used by Goku, Super Saiyan God Goku, Goku (GT), and Super Saiyan 4 Goku after customizing their partners
  • Does a total of 43 hits at full output

3. Prominence Flash - Vegeta (Excellent)

See Prominence Flash in action

A fiery variation of the Final Flash, the Prominence Flash unleashes a blazing pillar of energy at the target and sets them ablaze. The Super Saiyan God Vegeta utilized this attack.

Obtained through Parallel Quest 137, this long-range Ki blast does 50% damage over 48 hits and costs 3 bars of Ki to use. It inflicts knockback and comes out as quickly as a final flash.

The reason it’s ranked so high is that the Prominence Flash has a special quality, every time it lands it does more damage as if the target is being scorched more and more with each successful blast.

Prominence Flash review

  • Damage stacking
    • Each successful land of this move will add on damage which is an extremely powerful and unique trait amongst ultimates.
  • Quick speed
    • Once the beam is fired it advances very quickly and is hard to block or dodge. It can also be used at close range effectively.
  • It’s a giant red beam
    • With two orbs of fiery energy charging in each hand, it’s hard not to see this move coming if it’s fired in neutral.

Prominence Flash details

  • Used by Super Saiyan God Vegeta
  • Beam lasts longer the more it’s used

2. Emperor’s Death Beam - Golden Frieza (Excellent)

See Emperor’s Death Beam in action

The trademark attack of the evil Galactic Emperor Frieza, the Death Beam is a lethal barrage of Ki blasts that leave the target on death row.

Available in the TP medal shop, the Emperor’s Death Beam costs 4 bars of Ki to use and does a minimum of 40% damage over 15 hits. The results of the attack vary depending on how much Ki one has stored up when firing and the startup for this move is essentially non-existent.

The first beam fires immediately and stuns the target which opens them up for more beams that melt through their health.

Emperor’s Death Beam review

  • High destructive power
    • This ultimate can MELT through health and it’s torture having to sit through the animation after you got hit and watching your health drain away.
  • Quickdraw startup
    • As soon as your enemy’s finger is pointed at you, it’s already over. You’ve been shot and now are going to lose an entire bar of health.
  • Punishable
    • If you somehow managed to miss this attack be wary because your opponent has ample opportunity to fly over and stamina break you.

Emperor’s Death Beam details

  • Doesn’t stun super-armored enemies but still does massive damage
  • Useful against bosses to freeze them in place

1. Warp Kamehameha - Son Goku (Best)

See Warp Kamehameha

Finally reaching the top spot we have the Warp Kamehameha. The best move in Z and the coolest move in the game the Warp Kamehameha combines Instant Transmission with a powerful Ki wave to demolish the opponent.

It costs 4 bars of Ki to use this move and the damage is rather standard with 30% damage over 24 hits that inflict knockback. Where this move shines is its warp aspect, after it’s charged the user will teleport behind the target and slam it with the attack.

The other ultimates on this list were almost instant but this move is instantaneous and without preparation is essentially impossible to dodge because of its size.

The biggest drawback of this ultimate is the charge time, if seen the opponent has time to brace themselves for the attack.

Warp Kamehameha review

  • Instant attack
    • Instant transmission closes the distance with the enemy immediately and doesn’t give them time to react before firing the Kamehameha.
  • Hard to punish
    • Even if this attack misses it ends so quickly that there’s barely any time to punish it.
  • Slow charge up
    • Despite being instant once it’s finished charging an animation must finish playing before the Warp Kamehameha fires which gives the target just a bit of time to counter.

Warp Kamehameha details

  • Used by SSGSS Goku
  • Must be locked on in order to activate
