[Top 10] Final Fantasy XV Best Daggers (And How To Get Them)

Unkempt Crownsguard, Iggy’s Hair Down and a rare shot of Iggy’s shoes while kicking Daggers? This is pure fanservice material.

Today we’ll be talking about the Top 10 Daggers after seeing that we’ve talked about Swords, Greatswords, Bows, Polearms, Axes and Maces.

Like the polearms before, the daggers can be equipped both by Ignis and Noctis and can be used if you’re looking for weapons which deliver a multitude of combos in less timing along with speed and damage. The daggers are the perfect tool of weaponry for this.

Well, let’s get this show on the road.

10. Avengers

Surprisingly looks similar to the Zwill Crossblades.

Avengers Dagger location

First up, we have the Avengers Daggers. They’re located right up in The Three Valleys where you can get them as early as Chapter 1 and equip them to Noct or Iggy, according to your fit.

It’s great as a starting weapon which can give you a great boost when facing enemies and can deliver a critical bonus as well but apart from that, it’s just average. That’s about it regarding this.

Why are Avengers average:

  • Gives critical damage when in low health.
  • Does not have high attack damage.
  • Not effective in the latter half of games.

Avengers full details: Daggers that unleash their full potential in times of peril. When the wielder is in poor health, they deliver critical strikes against the foe.

  • 43 ATK
  • 8 CRIT
  • Max MP: +4
  • Magic: +5
  • Critical bonus when the wielder has low HP: Critical + (5 + 1.5n)% where n is every percentage point reduction under 30% HP

9. Mythril Knives

Ah, yes. Mythril. Odd-looking knives.

Mythril Knives Showcase

Mythril Knives come next on our list which you can get after completing the “Close Encounter of the Terra Kind” quest or you can buy them at the shops at Taelpar Rest Area and Lestallum.

They just enhance the magic of the player character and that’s about it. Nothing too special about this weapon. Preferably equipped with Ignis rather than Noct since he is an expert at all things Magic-related.

Why Mythril Knives are average:

  • Enhance the Magic of the user.
  • Doesn’t deal much damage.
  • No additional buffs or enhancements.

Mythril Knives full details: With blades forged of Mythril, these knives enhance the wielder's magic.

  • 62 ATK
  • 8 CRIT
  • Max MP: +6
  • Magic: +50

8. Plunderers

Anything with gears calls for Insomnian tech.

How to get Plunderers

Up next, we got the Plunderer’s which can be made available once you trade 4 Caem Carrots at Caem Farms.

Like all weapons infused with Insomnian technology, this absorbs the elemental powers of the foes you fight when dealing the finishing blow to an enemy. Better used with Ignis but Noct can work fine too with these daggers as well.

Why Plunderers are average:

  • Deals good damage but to an extent.
  • Enhances magic but with not much significance.
  • Absorbs elemental powers.

Plunderers full details: Unique daggers crafted with Insomnian technology. They absorb the elemental powers of defeated foes.

  • 111 ATK
  • 8 CRIT
  • Max MP: +10
  • Magic: +10
  • Absorbs elemental energy when dealing the finishing blow to an enemy.

7. Assassin's Daggers

Just Iggy and Noct doing their combos. No photo of Assassin’s Daggers BECAUSE THEY LOOK THE SAME LIKE THE DELTA DAGGERS!

Assassin's Daggers Location

Next up we have the Assassin’s Daggers which can be found at the Malacchi Pond fishing spot or the Vesperpool region or the Daurell Caverns. You can also buy them from the shop at Lestallum or Verinas Mart – Ravatough if you’re looking to have multiple copies of the weapon for equipping both Noct and Iggy with it.

The great thing about it is that it has the chance to inflict Poison on enemies which can prove very advantageous but it has moderate damage and doesn’t have any additional buffs or so. Still, worth using if you want to have it for collection’s sake.

Why Assassin’s Daggers is average:

  • Poison’s enemy which can effectively help in battles.
  • Moderate damage dealt with enemies.
  • No additional buffs or strengths.

Assassin's Daggers full details: Blades favored by assassins, infused with venom. They may inflict poison with each strike.

  • 126 ATK
  • 8 CRIT
  • Max MP: +7
  • Magic: +10
  • 10% chance to inflict Poison

6. Mage Mashers

Too “Tribal” for Daggers. See what I did there?

Mage Mashers showcase

Well, whaddaya know? If you’re a veteran of the Final Fantasy series, you must recognize this pair of daggers. They’re Zidane’s signature daggers from Final Fantasy IX. (Zidane is the main protagonist for FF9.)

You don’t need to do anything to get this weapon, just have the Royal or Windows Edition of the game and it’ll be in your inventory since it was originally a pre-order bonus.

All tributes and nostalgia aside, these pair of daggers only resist elemental damage and give a big boost during the beginning but don’t quite pack a punch in the middle of the game. It’s pretty, that’s for sure. But that’s just about it.

Why Mage Mashers is average:

  • Doesn’t deal much damage.
  • Resists Fire/Ice/Lightning damage.
  • Enhances magic but that’s just about it.

Mage Mashers full details: Daggers set with protective gems. They mitigate damage from fire, ice, and lightning when equipped.

  • 66 ATK
  • 8 CRIT
  • Max MP: +13
  • Magic: +32
  • -30% Fire/Ice/Lightning damage.

5. Delta Daggers

The image says it all.

Delta Daggers Secret Location

Next, we have the Delta Daggers which can be found at a treasure near the Rock of Ravatough in Malmalam Thicket (south of the ice deposit) or you can get this item via the weapons shop at Altissia, Cartanica, Tenebrae or Zegnautus Keep.

The great thing about these daggers is that it inflicts “Compromised” status on the enemies meaning that they can significantly reduce the Vitality of the enemies you’re facing. It’s one of the few weapons in-game that can give this status to enemies. Otherwise, it acts like a normal dagger and that’s about it. Fast delivery of combos is guaranteed. You can equip it to both Iggy and Noct but I’d go for Iggy having these bad boys.

Why Delta Daggers are average:

  • Afflicts “Compromised” status to enemies which can reduce Vitality significantly.
  • Increases magic capabilities of the character equipping them leading to a boost in Magic related abilities.
  • Does not deliver high damage to enemies.

Delta Daggers full details: Short but deadly blades, designed to inflict gaping wounds, depriving foes of their defence.

  • 153 ATK
  • 8 CRIT
  • Max MP: +6

  • Ice Resistance: 7%

3. Vigilantes

What the devs could’ve done is at least use a different skin for each individual weapon. I swear I have seen this skin on many daggers.

Vigilantes Dagger Location

Next up, we have the Vigilantes dagger which has the same skin as the Orichalcum, the Organyx and the Cutlasses.

You can get this at the first haven in the Greyshire Glacial Grotto maze which will be available in Chapter 15.

Like the Delta Daggers before, it tends to favour more towards the magic build and would prove more beneficial if Ignis would equip it instead of Noct to unleash the full capabilities of the weapon. It also has the capacity to inflict the “Stop” status on enemies. Overall, a weapon worth equipping. It’s not in the #3 spot for no reason.

Why is Vigilantes great:

  • Flurry of combos with high attack power can deliver deadly combos.
  • Magic buffs which can prove advantageous in battle.
  • Inflicts “Stop” on enemies which can help in decision-making during combat.

Eorzean Tailoring to Iggy does suit him.

FFXV x FFXIV All New Weapons

You all probably know it by now with the green glow and the costume along with the name that what weapon is this. It’s the Final Fantasy 14 Collaboration weapon made especially for Ignis.

You can get this weapon along with its Greatsword, Sword and Firearm variants at Y’jhimei’s trading post in Perpetouss Keep once you complete the “Adventurer from Another World” quest and to be at Level 45 to get access to this quest as well.

It’s got killer damage, reduces MP consumption, glows green during combat for those sweet aesthetic photos that Blondie will take mid-combat and got status effects as well. What’s there not to like about it?

  • Flurry of combos with high attack power can deliver deadly combos.

1. Zwill Crossblades

Great to see you again, Zwill Crossblades.

How to get Zwill Crossblades

Lastly, the franchise recurring daggers that made its debut in Final Fantasy VI and still retains the top spot for the best daggers.

You can get these beauties when you complete Randolph’s “Wondrous Weapon” sidequest in Lestallum which is available in Chapter 15 and defeat the Lv.120 Naglfar.

It’s got the strongest damage in the daggers category and its speed and effectiveness make it a unique pair of daggers. You definitely cannot go wrong with this weapon. Be it on Noctis or on Iggy, these babies sure know how to pack a punch.
