For Honor Best Hybrid Heroes Revealed (Ranked Weakest To Strongest)

Who To Play in the Hybrid Horde?

The Hybrid Class heroes are the most common heroes on the For Honor battlefield. They do not excel in any one area of combat, but rather have unique abilities that give them an edge in specific combat situations. They are warriors that can assist in a large number of ways on the battlefield, but some have extremely exploitable weaknesses due to their specific abilities/playstyles.

So, which of the twelve hybrid heroes will help carry you to victory? Like all classes some are far better than others and today we are going to explain why that is.

13. Pirate:

The Pirate belongs to the Hybrid class of the new faction and wields a powerful cutlass and flintlock pistol. While easily the easiest character to learn the basics of For Honor with they are without a doubt one of the worst. They struggle being a one dimensional combatant who struggles to get the upper hand in fights. Their combos highly rely on simple sword strikes and charged up shoulder bashes. Other than his highly telegraphed overhead unblockable attack his other strikes do minimal damage to their enemies. For these reasons I believe they are easily the weakest Vanguard hero.

Strengths:

  • Grapple gun allows for punishing follow ups to your strikes.

Weaknesses:

  • Weak combos that are easily defended against.
  • One dimensional fighter that relies too heavily on the gun mechanic.

12. Aramusha:

Aramusha is a Hybrid hero that serves under the samurai faction. He wields dual single handed katana blades that allow him to be quite versatile. While they do solid damage and provide some

Strengths:

  • Quick chain combo strikes.
  • Chain attacks can cut someone down without running out of stamina.
  • Heavy breaker kick and instant ultimate block.

Weaknesses:

  • Predictable fighter with limited defenses.
  • Speed and strength are incredibly average.

11. Lawbringer:

The Lawbringer is a Hybrid class character of the knights faction and wields the powerful halberd. This allows them to get out of the way of wide sweep attacks that would typically take down a warrior who normally dodges. While their damage is nothing special they employ a fierce heavy kick that sends opponents flying across the room. They can also follow this kick up with a heavy attack that is guaranteed to land. While most players telegraph the kick, the very threat of it helps the Tiandi control how their opponents move and make them pay for it.

Strengths:

  • Breakers that allow you to manhandle an opposing warrior.
  • Heavy unblockable strikes.

Weaknesses:

  • Slow attacks with limited openings.
  • Should absolutely NOT be a hybrid. Handicapped by not having heavy buildout.

10. Nobushi:

The Nobushi is a Hybrid class character of the Samurai faction and wields the Nagita spear. This allows them to get out of the way of wide sweep attacks that would typically take down a warrior who normal dodges. While their damage is nothing special they employ a fierce heavy kick that sends opponents flying across the room. They can also follow this kick up with a heavy attack that is guaranteed to land. While most players telegraph the kick, the very threat of it helps the Tiandi control how their opponents move and make them pay for it.

Strengths:

  • Backstep allows for fancy dodging gameplay.
  • Heavy kick and followup combo.
  • Quick stabs that stack the bleeding status.

Weaknesses:

  • Weak attacks and pitifully slow heavy strikes that are easy to parry.

Nobushi: 10/100

9. Medjay:

The Medjay is a Hybrid class character of the new faction and wields the brutal Bifurcated Fan Axes.

Strengths:

  • Switchup gameplay from using staff weapon and split axes.
  • Heavy kick and followup combo.
  • Quick light strikes.

Weaknesses:

  • Weak attacks that require longer fights.
  • Their acrobatic-like attack patterns can leave the open if the opponent times their strikes correctly.

Medjay: 20/100

8. Valkyrie:

The Valkyrie is a Hybrid class character of the Viking faction and wields a short spear and shield.

Weaknesses:

  • Weak attacks that require longer fights.

Valkyrie: 30/100

7. Centurion:

The Tiandi is a Vanguard class character of the Wu Lin faction and wields the elegant Dao sword. Like the rest of their Wu Lin brethren they employ a very distinct and unique moveset. The Flow Like Water moves allow them to enter into long, drawn out dodge attacks that can throw off their enemies.

Strengths:

Flow Like Water moveset makes the Tiandi a dodge specialist and gives dodge cancel options.

Heavy kick and followup combo.

Quick light strikes.

Weaknesses:

Weak attacks that require longer fights.

Their acrobatic-like attack patterns can leave the open if the opponent times their strikes correctly.

Centurion: 40/100

6. Shaolin:

Shaolin is a powerful Hybrid character who belongs to the Wu Lin faction who wields his staff. The Shaolin has a very unique fighting style and is difficult to compare to any other For Honor Hero. My best comparison would be the Highlander as the Shaolin has a solid fighting style and combos to utilize like a normal hero, but is able to go into a specific fighting stance known as the Qi Stance. When utilized the Shaolin will wind up his staff attack and be able to come out with several powerful strikes to overpower their opponent. While the Qi Stance is powerful the ability most Shaolin mains typically rely on is their leg sweep trip. This has a wide range and is difficult to dodge away from. All enemies of the Shaolin are constantly aware of this ability and the threat alone can help give you an edge in combat. This spiritual warrior is capable of overpowering many heroes in For Honor.

Strengths:

  • Flow Like Water moveset makes the Tiandi a dodge specialist and gives dodge cancel options.
  • Heavy kick and followup combo.
  • Quick light strikes.

Weaknesses:

  • Weak attacks that require longer fights.
  • Their acrobatic-like attack patterns can leave the open if the opponent times their strikes correctly.

Shaolin: 50/100

5. Highlander:

Highlander is another Hybrid character class of the Vikings faction who wields the mighty Claymore Greatsword. This hero needs little introduction as to why they carved their way to A-Tier as almost all new For Honor players have to deal with the frustration of facing them. He can enter into a defensive or offensive form and switch between the two quite easily. It allows for versatile gameplay and helps the player get off easy parries or powerful unblockable attacks. Outside of the stances though the Highlander can simply charge headfirst into battle and quickly slice any enemy hero to pieces. He is a powerful brutish warrior that can intimidate any team of warriors who dare stand against him.

Highlander: 60/100

4. Gryphon:

Gryphon is a Hybrid class hero of the Knights faction and wielder of the mighty Bardiche polearm. This veteran ex-lawbringer brings a lot more versatility to their fighting style. With side heavy attacks and devastating kicks this hero does a great job of overwhelming their enemy. If you fall for their heavy, kick, and heavy hit combination then you will basically be a dead man walking. The Gryphon also has several unique perks that help heal himself and his team. Draconite mist allows him to slightly heal himself/allies nearby. Draconite Bolt allows the Gryphon to fire off a crossbow bolt that damages an enemy but heals himself/nearby allies. Draconite Cleanser is a thrown bomb that damages nearby enemies and greatly heals nearby allies. This character is solid and has the potential to become the number one leader of any multiplayer match.

Gryphon: 70/100

3. Afeera:

Kensei are Vanguard class characters of the Samurai faction and wield the long Nodachi Katana. As one of the first initial heroes launched in For Honor, the Kensei still holds their own on the battlefield without all the bells and whistles of newer characters. They are deceptively quick and can expertly feint out of attacks to fool their enemies. When the Kensei swings their sword you never know when or where it is going to land. He can easily initiate an overhead attack, switch to a left swing, and the next thing you know the opposite side of your body has been gouged open. Because they are one of the Day 1 launched Multiplayer characters the Kensei lacks any unique perks, but they do have a solid set of perks that can aid you in battle. They have multiple abilities that can either help buff themselves or deal damage to their enemies. Overall just another well rounded warrior here.

Strengths:

  • Feint attack specialist that can fake out opponents easily.
  • Heavy attacks can become both unblockable and uninterruptible.
  • Strong fighter with powerful heavy sword strikes.

Weaknesses:

  • Can take awhile to master making them predictable when you first start playing.

Afeera: 80/100

2. Zhanhu:

Zhanhu are Hybrid heroes of the Wu Lin faction who wield a devastatingly powerful Chinese Greatsword known as a Changdao. Their light attacks are quick and provide the perfect opening to any fight. Their heavy attacks land faster than most other warriors and can be feinted out of during almost any of their combos. Because of this the Zhanhu has the ability to keep opponents frazzled trying to block/parry until it is too late for them. Aside from forward stabs and side swipes, the Zhanhu provides many damaging perks. As a master of artillery they have three unique fiery projectiles and if you want to add some insult to injury they also include a longbow. Overall this hero provides a challenge against any other warrior in For Honor and can finish battles just as quickly as they start them.

Strengths:

  • Corruption abilities will help you in every team gamemode.
  • A seemingly endless arsenal of attack combinations.
  • Parry specialist and can punish you with her Vicious Impale ability after each parry.
  • Overpowering femme fatale that will backhand you into oblivion.

Weaknesses:

  • No true weaknesses to this character. She can struggle against warriors who have the All Block abilities, but they can be easily countered if she employs breakers.

Zhanhu: 90/100

1. Kyoshin:

Kyoshin is the most reliable Hybrid hero of the Samurai faction and is the most versatile warrior in For Honor. Several characters have had all-block stances such as the Warlord, Black Prior, and Conqueror. However, Kyoshin has the Kaze Stance which allows for them to twirl their blade and block any incoming attacks. The best part of the Kaze stance is the many different Kaze Attacks you can combo into once someone strikes the all-block. The Kyoshin does not just rely on the Kaze Stance as he is packed with a dodge heavy attack, kick/elbow bash, and quick decisive sword slashes. Add all of these devastating skills together and you have an unstoppable killing machine. This hero is literally carving their way through the For Honor community and those who become experts with the Kyoshin can stand against any hero. There is no doubt in my mind he deserves the top S-Tier spot.

Strengths:

  • Feint attack specialist that can fake out opponents easily.
  • Heavy attacks can become both unblockable and uninterruptible.
  • Strong fighter with powerful heavy sword strikes.

Weaknesses:

  • Can take awhile to master making them predictable when you first start playing.

Kyoshin: 100/100

As I always say you can excel as any character, but when you break down each character in the Vanguard class I am beyond confident in these placements. That said if you train yourself and suffer through the many executions you’ll face you can become great as anyone and challenge those high tier warriors, but it will not be as easy a journey as maining the Tiandi, Kensei, or Warmonger. If you want some more For Honor content check out the rest of my articles, especially the best Heavies, Vanguards, and Assassins articles!
