Tanks have been a long-standing class of champions in League of Legends that have, at times, been the meta pick due to buffs made by Riot and nerfs to other classes. 

When the enemy team has two or more tanks, it can be wise to choose someone to counter this. In this list, we have the top ten best anti-tank champions that will kill the tank and win the game. So let’s jump in!

10. Pantheon

Pantheon is a popular champion played mostly in the top lane or jungle; however, he has make an appearance as support in recent seasons.

The reason for his versatility in lane is due to his kit allowing him to adapt to the enemy team. He can build tank or he can build tank shredder.

Why Pantheon is a Great Tank Killer:

• Often he builds Black Cleaver which gives him stacks of armour reduction.
• Can build Eclipse as his mythic item allowing him to deal an additional 6% Max Health Physical Damage.
• Can build Serpent’s Fang, reducing any shields the enemy tanks may have activated for three seconds.

9. Azir

Drift King | ABUSE THIS NEW INSANE AZIR BUILD!!!

Azir is a late game carry champion usually played in the mid lane. He can attack enemy tanks from a distance using his sand soldiers and pound their health down to zero safely. That is if you know how to play him correctly.

As he has very high Damage Per Second (DPS) in the late game, Azir can slice through the enemy tanks health bar, making him a great tank killer.

Why Azir is a Great Tank Killer:

• Azir can build Liandry’s in order to shred enemy tank HP percentage
• Coupled with Demonic Embrace, Azir can focus damage on the front line and wipe them out.
• Can out range many tanks who are melee based with his sand soldiers.

8. Camille

Cree | CAMILLE IS THE BEST TANK SHREDDER IN THE GAME!

While Camille is a tank, she can also be an anti-tank by wielding her abilities with the correct items. Her ability to be mobile helps her evade any enemy tank attacks while building Tiamat early to help sustain in lane by adding extra damage to enemy tanks.

Why Camille is a Great Tank Killer:

• She can use her E Hookshot to dodge enemy tank attacks (Ornn knock up or Sion Ult) while also using it to land her own knock up. It can also help when ganking other lanes.
• Her Passive Adaptive Defenses grants her a shield that can be helpful when going against a large health enemy. 

7. Kayle

Kayle is a squishy champion that has insane late game damage. Her early game is weak, and her mid game is average, which can prove tough for those who play Kayle. However, once she hits the late game and gains her power spike, she can be the anti-tank of your dreams.

Why Kayle is a Great Tank Killer:

• Equipped with Blade of the Ruined King (BotRK), Kayle can shred down enemy tanks due to BotRK’s Mist Edge which causes basic attacks to deal a percentage of the current health of enemies.
• BotRK also gives Kayle life steal, allowing her to sustain her fights against opponents with tonnes of health.
• Kayle’s power spike at levels 11 and 16 give her extra damage. The former gives Kayle the ability to launch attacks at the target with a wave of fire, while the latter gives this ability permanently and extra attack range.

6. Vayne

Vayne ADC, the anti-tank – Gameplay

One of the few marksmen to make the list, Vayne is a late game hypercarry that can destroy the entire enemy team, including any tanks.

The Night Hunter is known for taking control in the late game, using her tumble and invisibility during her ultimate to choose her target wisely, and annihilate them. She can take down an enemy team quickly if the player is smart enough.

Why Vayne is a Great Tank Killer:

• Vayne’s W Silver Bolts deal true damage.
• Her basic attacks and E Condemn apply a stack of Silver Bolts on a singular target with a maximum of three stacks. At three stacks, true damage is dealt.

5. Fiora

Fiora is a champion most find hard to play due to her kit and playstyle. Yet, for those that persist and learn Fiora, she can be a real threat to the enemy team on the rift.

Why Fiora is a Great Tank Killer:

• Her Passive Duelist’s Dance allows Fiora to identify vital points on the enemy champions.
• When Fiora damages this vital point, she deals a percentage of the enemy’s maximum health.
• While also dealing bonus true damage to the champion at the same time, and healing her based on her level.

4. Trundle

The Troll King can be seen on the rift in the top lane and in the jungle. His ability to heal as he dwindles down his enemy’s health is exactly what he needs to wreck any opposing tanks.

Why Trundle is a Great Tank Killer:

• His Passive King’s Tribute allows Trundle to heal when an enemy dies near him for a percentage of their maximum health. Therefore tanks are the ideal opponent for Trundle.
• His Q Chomp gives Trundle bonus attack damage for 5 seconds while also reducing the target’s attack damage for the same amount of time.
• His ultimate Subjugate drains the target of their health while also healing Trundle for a percentage of their current health.

3. Darius

The Hand of Noxius is a juggernaut champion that is usually played in the top lane. Darius can stack Haemorrhage on his targets, which greatly helps him take down any enemy, including tanks.

Why Darius is a Great Tank Killer:

• Darius’ R Noxian Guillotine allows him to execute enemies that have Haemorrhage stacks by means of true damage.
• His R can be recast if they first target dies quickly by his Noxian Guillotine. Therefore Darius can wreck a team quickly after taking out the tank of the team.
• When you put the third point into his R, there is no mana cost and recast timer.

2. Kog’Maw

• Kog’s Passive Icathian Surprise allows Kog to deal true damage after his death.
• His Q Caustic Spittle reduces armour and magic resist for 4 seconds.
• His W Bio-Arcane Barrage deals a percentage of the enemy target’s maximum health as additional magic damage for 8 seconds.

1. Vel’Koz

Vel’Koz takes the number one spot on our list. The Eye of the Void is one heck of an anti-tank champion due to his abilities causing true damage. Something that can really help against tanks.

True Damage is great against tanks that specifically  build resistances as it ignores any and all resistances, therefore making Vel’Koz the perfect tank shredder.

Why Vel’Koz is a Great Tank Killer:

• His Passive Organic Deconstruction stacks three times, with the third stack causing true damage.
• His ultimate Life Form Disintegration Ray allows Vel’Koz to apply Deconstruction stacks to enemies (like all his abilities), however, when an enemy has three stacks, they become Researched. Researched champions then take true damage from his ultimate.
• Therefore all of this abilities assist in adding true damage to enemies, which can be very useful against enemy tanks that build resistances.
