The Blue Essence is the main in-game currency in League of Legends so it’s no surprise that it’s used for many different purposes in the game.

Blue Essences can be used for the following:

• Unlocking Champion Masteries on your favorite champions in Hextech Crafting
• Changing your IGN without spending for RP which is real-time money
• Can be used to purchase the occasional Chroma sales on shop
• Buy rune pages
• Purchase limited-edition collections in the Essence Emporium
• Unlock Champions permanently

We understand that this can be exceptionally hard for beginners who are just starting out in the game. Even for the veterans and casual players who don’t allot much time in playing the game, grinding for Blue Essences can be a challenge too.

Hence, we prepared a list of the fastest ways you can grind for Blue Essences!

5. First Win of the Day

This is a daily challenge incentivizing summoners to play the game each day. Succeeding gives the reward of a bonus of 50 blue essence and 400 experience.

How it works:

• You can succeed in this mission by winning in any mode of matchmade games (meaning any game mode except for custom). 
• This refreshes every 20h. 
• This mission becomes available after Summoner Level 15.

4. Doing missions during events

As a way of promoting a new skin line or a League event, Riot holds limited-time events. For a period of time, often lasting for a month, summoners are given a set of objectives they can fulfill. 

Doing so grants summoners rewards, often in the form of hextech chests, Champion Capsules, and of course, Blue essences.

How it works:

• Go to the Missions Tab on your client.
• Make sure to always start every event so you get to participate.
• You will be given missions, often in sets of 3. 
• You’d be given two choices of objects. For example: (Deal 80,000 damage to enemy champions in matchmade games OR Play 7 matchmade games)
• Reap your rewards! Enjoy your Blue Essences.

3. Get Honor Orbs and Capsules

The Honor system has been implemented to promote good behavior within the LoL community.

Honorable summoners are rewarded with Honor Orbs and Capsules, both of which may contain Blue Essences.

How it works:

• Be honorable! This can get you the amount of honors you need in getting the rewards.
• Honors have levels. Upon reaching Honor Levels 3, 4, and 5, they are rewarded with Capsules and Orbs. 
• These rewards may contain key fragments, ward skins, emotes, exclusive skins, and of course, champion shards which can then be disenchanted into Blue Essences.

2. Get it from Hextech Chests

Hextech chests can contain skin, emotes, and ward skin shard, all of which can be converted into Orange Essences. 

Moreover, it can also contain the Blue Essences we’re looking for. It can come in the form of bare Blue Essence, or champion shards you can disenchant to convert to Blue Essence.

Obtaining Hextech chests can be done even by free-to-play summoners. 

How it works:

• One way to get Hextech chests freely is by getting the 2 available chests that can be obtained weekly. This can be acquired if you or your teammate gets a rating of S- or above in their game performance on a new champion. 
• Another way is when you receive Honors from your previous games. They usually reward that more commonly with Key Fragments, but also Mastery Chests from time to time.
• Go to the Hextech Crafting Panel. If you’ve successfully obtained chests via the aforementioned methods, it will show up.
• Open the Chests by combining 3 key fragments and creating a key. This will allow you to open your Hextech Chests.
• You can also buy Hextech Chests from the Shop with Riot Points (RP).

1. Levelling up and Champion Shards

Perhaps the most basic yet still the best way to earn Blue Essence is by playing the game and increasing your summoner level. This is to incentivize summoners to play the game more. 

This way is more effective than all previous ways combined.

If you want your Blue Essence to get that champion you want without spending real-time money, you have to play the game. If you want to change your IGN to something funny or timely, you have to play the game. For whatever the cause it may be, the best means to get it is to grind your levels. 

How it works:

• Levelling up from starting from summoner Level-5 grants you Champion Capsules.
• Champion Capsules are filled with champion shards with values ranging from 810 BE to 1260 BE.
• Champion shards can be disenchanted for 20% of the cost of that particular champion (e.g Viego is worth 6300 BE. Disenchanting his champion shards would give you 1260 BE)
• Champion shards can also be upgraded to a permanent champion for 60% of its original cost in Blue Essence (e.g If you don’t have Viego yet and you get his champion shard, you can upgrade it to make him permanent for only 3780 BE compared to his original price which is 6300 BE)
