MK11 Best Fatalities For Every Character (Ranked Worst to Best)

Finish Him! Are the classic words every player has heard throughout the last three decades thanks to Mortal Kombat. With every new game, the fatalities become more elaborate, brutal, and gorier, with Mortal Kombat 11 featuring some of the most innovative finishers to date. This list ranks the best fatalities from every player in the game including DLC characters such as Terminator, Rambo, and Mileena from worst to best. Let’s check out the first name:
37) Liu Kang
Best Fatality: Belly of the Beast
Ah, the MK tournament winner is the first name on the list. Yikes! Here’s the thing, Liu Kang is a strong character to play in MK 11. His classic Fireball and Bicycle Kicks are easy and fun to pull off and the legendary character has some sweet combo moves that make you want to bust out some karate on some poor soul yourself. However, Liu Kang’s fatalities are simply boring. “Burn Out” is just fancy punches and a karate chop of death. “Belly of the Beast'' is a bit better, but it lacks the innovation a lot of the other fatalities have. I guess on a cloudy day, seeing severed limbs chopped into mush can bring a smile to anyone’s face.
36) Sheeva
Best Fatality: Spinal Tap
The Shokan badass made her grand return in-part of the “Aftermath” story of MK 11 and though Sheeva is a solid character to play, her fatalities leave a lot to be desired. “Stomp The Yard” and “Spinal Tap” satisfy our bloodlust, but the overall finishers feel uninspired and worst of all, forgettable.
35) Kotal Khan
Best Fatality: Totem Sacrifice

34) Erron Black
Best Fatality: Death Trap
Black originally made his debut in MK 10 (Like Khan) and proved to be a solid edition into the franchise, though his fatalities are nothing to write home about. “Melted” lacks the fun over-the-top gory kills that we’ve come to expect in the MK 11; however, Death Trap does provide that role and is visually pleasing. The image of seeing Black stick his shotgun through an opponent’s exposed ribcage and blasting his brains sky-high is a fun sight to behold.
33) Nightwolf
Best Fatality: Komo-tose
It was nice to see one of the original characters of Mortal Kombat make his return, but Nightwolf’s fatalities leave a lot to be desired. While over-the-top, “War Ritual” doesn’t have that thrill other kills have due to the lack of innovation. “Komo-tose” is a tad better visually, but it’s also a simple and forgettable fatality once all is said and done.
32) Kung Lao
Best Fatality: Meat Slicer
Kung Lao’s MK 11 fatality doesn’t come close to being as memorable as his MK 10 finishers “Face Plant” or “Flower Pot” as those moves would’ve easily cracked the top five. However, “Headed Nowhere” and “Meat Slicer” feel bland in comparison and neither move stands out in terms of innovation. Still, “Meat Slicer” isn’t too bad of a finisher and it does fulfill the blood lust MK fans crave.
31) Kano
Best Fatality: Save The Last Dance
The MK original is easily one of the best characters of the franchise. The Black Dragon fighter is a crass, arrogant, prick who usually has some of the best one-liners during his intros in Mortal Kombat. However, there’s no denying that Kano has a history of awful and forgettable fatalities. “Face Like A Dropped Pie” is a vicious, but lazy and interchangeable finisher for the cocky bastard; however, “Last Dance” does an excellent job of showcasing Kano’s personality. It’s still one of the weakest fatalities on the roster, but this over-the-top sequence does provide a good laugh that saves it from being the worst fatality in MK 11.
30) Baraka
Best Fatality: Rock, Paper, Baraka
Look, I’m all for watching Baraka peeling the face off a man (or woman) and ripping out the brains to eat, but “Rock, Paper, Baraka” gets the nod for best fatality between the two. While the simple slice-and-dice kill doesn’t exactly have the flare of some of the other finishers on the list, its brutal and nasty nature makes for a fun watch. Besides, who doesn’t like seeing a man’s head split into two?
29) Sub-Zero
Best Fatality: Frozen In Time
It wouldn’t be Sub-Zero if he wasn’t ripping off someone’s head. The Lin Kuei master is one of the representatives of the MK franchise and has always been one of the best fighters on the roster. Sub-Zero does have a history of strong fatalities, which makes his finishers in MK 11 all the more disappointing. “Frozen In Time” is a solid homage to his original fatality with a cool ice-popping visual at the end, but it doesn’t match up to some of the more innovative finishers on the roster. “Ice-Cutioner” is also a mediocre and simple fatality that doesn’t pack the punch that his previous finishers have.
28) Kollector
Best Fatality: Head Lantern
An endless stabbing that ends with someone’s mid-section being cut in half. Check. A dangerous game of toss that ends with someone’s eyes shooting out of their sockets. Check. The Kollector is another solid new entry in the Mortal Kombat franchise that highlights MK’s 11 weird, but admittingly fun eye-popping obsession. While “Head Lantern” lacks true originality and innovation, the fatality makes it up with heavy brutality and gore. After seeing this fatality, you’ll come to appreciate your lower half and eyeballs a lot more.
27) Jade
Best Fatality: Pole Dance
I love a good pole dance, though I would prefer everyone’s limbs to be intact. The highly skilled assassin’s fatality is also a simple move that’s elevated for its over-the-top nature. After all, who isn’t curious about the intestines of D’Vorah and Spawn? The visual of seeing the dead victim spinning around Jade’s pole is funny and grotesque, two signature traits of Mortal Kombat.
26) Jax
Best Fatality: Still Got It
Jax’s second fatality is essentially what you would see in a looney tunes cartoon with a mature rating. Ripping off an opponent’s arm like pizza and treating his/her head like a baseball bat is a riot on its own, but the final sequence of the victim’s flesh-ripping off due to the impact of the home run hit sends this goofy fatality over the edge.
25) Cassie Cage
Best Fatality: #GirlPower
The term, “like father, like daughter” somewhat applies here with Cage showing off her expert gun skills before splitting a body in half thanks to a nut shot. It’s the silly, over-the-top kills that we love about Mortal Kombat, and while her parents have stronger fatalities than their offspring, there’s no denying the fun that comes with #GirlPower.
24) Skarlet
Best Fatality: Bloody Mess
The Outworlder made her grand return in bloody fashion in Mortal Kombat 11. The genetic experiment’s movement is based on blood magic that makes for a unique playthrough when using Shao Khan’s “daughter”. “Bloody Mess” puts MK’s gorgeous visuals and eye-popping obsession to good use, stabbing her hapless victim with their drained blood sickles and finishing off the opponent by piercing one of the sickles through the eye socket. A girl just wants to have fun; Even if that fun means ripping out one of your eyeballs.
23) Shao Khan
Best Fatality: Back Blown Out
The powerful tyrant that has been one of the main antagonists of Mortal Kombat finally became a playable character in MK 11 and he surely doesn’t disappoint. While his fatalities aren’t exactly the best on MK 11, Back Blown Out’s over-the-top ridiculousness is a blast to watch. It’s also cool to see the detailed facial expressions of said character once their back has been blown out. It’s not easy topping an opponent shitting out a human head and other intestines, but Shao Khan’s first fatality proves to be the more exciting watch than “Kahn-Sequences”.
22) Geras
Best Fatality: Peeling Back
A solid new addition to the MK franchise. Geras’ time travel powers provide fun gameplay, but his fatalities aren’t as innovative as they should be. “Phasing Through Time” should’ve been more over-the-top than a simple punching combo; however, “Peeling Back” does provide that grotesque gore that fans clamor for when it comes to MK 11. The overall concept is simple and doesn’t have the memorable thrills that other fatalities do, but seeing an opponent’s flesh peeled back is a nice (or nauseating) and visual.
21) Kabal
Best Fatality: Road Rash
Another big MK return was Kabal, our lovable speedy badass with dangerous hooks. His upgraded move set brought back some fun memories, though his fatalities made you remember why you missed him in the first place. “Hooked” is straight-up brutal and nasty, but “Road Rash'' perfectly plays off Kabal’s defining trait while providing the goods when it comes to kills. Seeing your opponent’s face being ripped apart on the pavement is equal parts disgusting and hilarious (due to the eyes balls popping out) and the final sequence puts the cherry on top of an already cool fatality.
20) Noob Saibot
Best Fatality: Double Team
I have to admit, Noob’s MK9 fatality, “Make a Wish”, was one of the first finishers to make me squirm. “Double Team” never reaches those levels of that brutal finisher, but that doesn’t make it any worse. A mix of Darth Vader, Ermac, and pure hate, the original Sub-Zero’s finisher is more on the cool side than vicious, though the victim is torn apart in the end so maybe my definition of vicious is a bit different.
19) Cetrion
Best Fatality: Maintaining Balance
Our favorite corrupt Elder Goddess has one of the funniest and deadliest fatalities on the roster. The daughter of our main antagonist, Kronika, puts her God-like powers to good use by burning off her opponent’s legs, leaving only tiny burned baby legs. This sequence is equal parts hilarious and scary, especially when the victim tries to pull back with their burned baby legs before Cetrion finishes him/her off for good. Mortal Kombat’s strong history of dark humor is put on display here, giving “Maintaining Balance” an edge over “Good and Evil”.
18) Terminator
Best Fatality: Target Terminated
“Terminator” and “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” will always be considered one of the best sci-fi/action movies ever made. With Ed Boon’s love of classic 80’s and 90’s cinema, it’s no surprise that the Terminator himself ended up on the MK 11 roster. The violent brute is the right combination of strength and badassery, which is capped off with a fatality that reminds you of your love for the two Terminator movies.
In execution, “Target Terminated” is one the tamest finishers on the roster; however, seeing the war between humans and machines brings back fond memories. The visuals here are top-notch; Everything from the explosions, skeleton bodies, and the terminators themselves are highly detailed with love and care that elevates this basic fatality to being one of the best in MK.
17) Raiden
Best Fatality: Direct Current
The Elder Gods would be proud here. Dawning an evil persona in MK 11, Raiden’s transformation to the dark side is elevated thanks to his brutal and gory fatalities. Someone pissed in Raiden’s coffee because “Direct Current” is straight-up tortuous and mean, yet that doesn’t stop it from being a good fatality. While it doesn’t reach the heights of some of his best finishers in MK, “Direct Current” showcases the evolution of the Elder God, and holy shit, let’s be happy that Raiden is on our side.
16) Mileena
Best Fatality: Violent Delights
The loveable flesh-eating genetic experiment was one of the most anticipated characters since her friendship debut with Kitana. The twisted form of Kitana never feels out of place in her return to MK as every stab by Mileena’s trusty pair of sais to a simple lick from her razor-sharp Tarkatan maw feels as good as it did back in the other generations of MK. There’s no denying that Mileena’s fatalities don’t match-up to Kitana’s, though “Violent Delights” has a strong squirm factor that other finishers don’t have. There’s just something about ripping someone’s face through their stomach that is highly uncomfortable, which says a lot about a video game that contains all types of gory and grotesque deaths.
15) Shang Tsung
Best Fatality: Kondemned To The Damned
The soul-stealing bastard with the voice of a God (thanks to Mortal Kombat movie veteran Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa) makes his grand return and the world of MK couldn’t have been any better for it. “Kondemned To The Damned” is vile but funny as hell; Seeing a perfect skeleton of said victim being dragged to hell is one of the top moments of MK 11 alone.
14) Rain
Best Fatality: Eye-solated
After teasing fans with his appearance in Mortal Kombat 10, Rain finally became playable in 11 and the “Prince of Water” proved why he was missed thanks to his dynamic and strong gameplay. Both fatalities have symbolism behind them, with “Power Washer” being a homage to his fallen brothers Ermac, Reptile, and Smoke (and the rock band Queen) and “Eye-solated” is akin to Dragon Ball Z’s Kienzan technique. “Eye-solated” delivers the good in terms of guts, blood, and eyeballs, with a hilarious final sequence.
13) Scorpion
Best Fatality: You’re Next
The cherry on top would’ve had Scorpion saying his signature phrase, “Get over here!”. The poster boy for Mortal Kombat has always been one of the coolest characters on the MK roster. While Scorpion’s backstory is rooted in tragedy, the leader of the Shirai Ryu’s overall character arch and signature voice (done by the man himself, Ed Boon) has made Scorpion a fan favorite. It also helps that the assassin is a fun character to play overall, with unique fatalities that highlight Scorpion’s powers and ruthlessness. “You’re Next” is the benchmark on what an MK fatality should be, a funny, over-the-top, gore fest.
12) Johnny Cage
Best Fatality: Who Hired This Guy
The Hollywood action star/diva/Earthrealm defender has always been the comic relief of the long franchise and his hilarious one-liners and overall charm has made Johnny Cage one of the best characters in Mortal Kombat. Both of his fatalities in MK 11 are a laugh riot, but “Who Hired This Guy” gets the nod due to the creators providing a bit of nostalgia by going back to Johnny’s days as an action star. This isn’t the gorefest that many other finishers provide, but it’ll damn sure leave a smile on your face once the head has finally been ripped off.
11) Spawn
Best Fatality: Unchained
Our favorite anti-hero made his MK 11 debut here and Spawn is easily one of the best DLC characters to play. It’s not only a joy to hear Keith David voice the caped crusader once again, but the brutal and violent nature of the demon perfectly shines through in his move set. “Unchained” highlights the full taste of Spawn’s powers to an over-the-top and gory effect, with the final posing sequence providing a good laugh. Spawn may not be the hero that we need, but he’s surely the one that we want.
10) Robocop
Best Fatality: Thank You For Your Cooperation
Ed Boon’s love for 80’s classics continues with Robocop, who’s voiced by the man himself, Peter Weller. Once you get past the nostalgia trip of hearing the beloved action star reprising his role in MK 11, Robocop fits into the Mortal Kombat world perfectly, and “Thank You For Your Cooperation” not only satisfies the gore thirsty but for any fan who’s always had a secret desire to slowly walk away from an explosion in a badass manner.
9) Kitana
Best Fatality: Royal Execution
The 10,000-year-old princess has the best fatalities between Jade and Melina. Kitana’s fighting style always had a beautiful essence to it. There’s just something elegant about the way she slices a man’s throat. “Royal Execution” continues that theme in the goriest and most over-the-top manner that’s also good for a laugh once her signature war fan impales the skull of the already dead victim. Who says a princess couldn’t be a badass, head-chopping warrior?
8) Frost
Best Fatality: Ice Sculpture
It should be no surprise that our second favorite stone-cold killer has one of the coolest fatalities on the roster. Even though “The Cyber Initiative” pays homage to Sub-Zero’s original fatality, it’s nothing special at the end of the day. However, “Ice Sculpture” is equal parts beautiful, violent, and over-the-top, a combination that sees her drill into the head and stomach of her opponent and finishes them off with an ice bomb that turns the victim into a literal ice sculpture. This kill perfectly highlights the Lin Kuei soldier, a ruthless warrior who only sees the beauty in others' demise.
7) Fujin
Best Fatality: Wind Blade
After 14 years, the “God of Wind” finally made his return, and “Wind Blade” easily stands out as one of the top finishers from the DLC characters. We’ve talked about the traits that tend to make up a memorable fatality: over-the-top, gory, and funny; which the devastating move checks off with ease. Perhaps Fujin gets his love of playing with limbs from his brother Raiden.
6) Jacqui Briggs
Best Fatality: Spider Mines
This was a tough one. The daughter of Jax has two fatalities that both deserve to be mentioned as top-notch, but “Spider Mines” edges out “Nothin But Neck” just a little by the uniqueness of the execution. While simple in concept, blasting off an opponent’s leg, torso, shoulder, and head is a nasty brutality at its finest. Though the smile on Jacqui’s face after the victim’s head has burst into bloody juice will put anyone in a good mood.
5) Sonya Blade
Best Fatality: To The Choppa
The beautiful, but lethal soldier has captured the hearts of fans throughout the last three decades of Mortal Kombat. Like Scorpion or Sub-Zero, Sonya made her debut in the first Mortal Kombat video game and her romance with Johnny Cage; Along with an absolute disdain for the most charming man in MK, Kano, have made her a strong character for the good guys.
Blade has been a solid fighter throughout the games, but her signature “kiss of death” finishers were simply boring. However, Blade’s fatalities shifted throughout the years, and “To The Choppa” and “Supply Drop” are the most brutal and gory finishers that Blade has ever done. Just like Kano, Raiden, or Johnny Cage, the evolution of Sonya Blade gives more context to her bloody maneuvers, but “To The Choppa” contains all the classic traits that make a Mortal Kombat fatality memorable.
4) D’Vorah
Best Fatality: New Species
The Alien/Dead Space comparison is strong with this one. D’Vorah was a strange addition to the MK franchise when she was introduced in MK 10. The Kytinn species comes across as an Alien that was left on the cutting room floor and “New Species” only heightens that statement a bit further. The sequence is a grotesque combination of the chest burst scene in the first alien movie and a necromorph transformation in Dead Space. It’s easily disgusting, yet one of the coolest and most innovative fatalities in the game.
3) Joker
Best Fatality: Pop Goes The Mortal
The Crown Prince of darkness finally arrived in the world of Mortal Kombat (not counting the disaster known as Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe game) and the patients at Arkham Asylum would cheer with murderous glee. The game invokes the Joker’s personality perfectly and our loveable villain sparks any time he’s given a chance to speak. Extremely funny, cartoonish, and gory, “Pop Goes The Mortal” is the perfect finish for any Joker match, and his beginning tune highlights why we love the murderous lunatic.
2) Sindel
Best Fatality: Hair Today Gone Tomorrow
"Too bad you... will die!" Had Mk 11 added this classic line then this fatality would’ve been top 5 for sure. Nevertheless, “The Queen of Scream” made her triumphant return and Sindel’s move set received a major upgrade that made her stand out as one of the best fighters on the roster. Sindel’s unique hair ability is put to strong use and “Hair Today Gone Tomorrow” is the result of her powers. The innovative fatality caps off the big return of the MK original with a satisfying and bloody effect.
1) Rambo
Best Fatality: Parilla Thrilla
The action badass with glorious hair couldn’t be more at home in the Mortal Kombat universe. Rambo’s brutalities are sick, but his fatalities up the ante big time. “Parilla Thrilla” doesn’t hold back any punches (or knives in this case) as the poor victim is tortured, mutilated, and then gutted like a pig with Rambo’s trusty hunting knife. This fatality is not for the faint of heart, which is why it’s the top finisher in the game.
