[Top 7] MTG Arena Best Alchemy Decks (Ranked)

Alchemy is Arena's exclusive format

Alchemy is a new format only available in MTG:Arena. It includes all standard sets, however it also rebalances cards and uses digital-only mechanics such as Conjure and Seek. Owning a rebalanced card gives you access to other, pre balanced versions of the card. With that in mind, let’s take a look at 7 of the best alchemy decks.

7. Boros Humans

Knight-Errant is a great way to build your board out wide and quick.

This deck is best at going wide, using the synergy of Knight-Errant of Eos and Imodane’s Recruiter as incentives to build a wide board, which will be buffed by Coppercoar Vanguard with its mostly human lineup. Explosive starts are common, utilizing cards like Rally at the Hornburg and Resolute Reinforcements. Many of your creatures also provide utility, with Recruitment Officer allowing you to delve into your deck to seek particular cards, and Skrelv, Defector Mite, who wins a few games by a toxic default. With a strategy based around a beefy board, single target removal can be quite useful to get rid of a pesky blocker.

What this deck excels in:

  • Swarming the board with tokens
  • Quickly building small creatures into large creatures
  • Fast Starts
  • Single-target removal

Decklist:

  • 4 Benalish Knight-Counselor
  • 4 Recruitment Officer
  • 2 Skrelv, Defector Mite
  • 4 Charming Scoundrel

6. 5 Color Jodah

Jodah is the legend of legends. This deck would make Barney Stinson proud.

This is a 5-color aggro deck built almost completely of legends to make use of Jodah, the Unifier as both a finisher and card-generation engine. Although manabases in Alchemy aren’t the best, this deck uses mana fixing to run all 5 colors with cards like Delighted Halfling and Great Hall of the Citadel. This deck runs a good number of cheap creators such as Hajar, Loyal Bodyguard, and Melira, the Living Cure. These are great at protecting your more important creatures like Jodah, the Unifier, Crucias, and Titan of the Waves.

What this deck excels in:

5.) Mono Black Midrange

One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them.

This deck is an interactive, midrange-heavy deck built to take out more aggressive creature strategies. It uses lots of early disruption to slow down creature decks, and runs The One Ring as a way to refuel and win the war of attrition. Even post-nerf, The One Ring is a powerful tool for card advantage, and this deck uses Beseech the Mirror to search your library for it. It also gives you access to a toolbox of situational cards you can fetch such as Sheoldred, the Apocalypse to gain life and Pile On to handle any serious creature (or Planeswalker) threat.

What this deck excels at:

  • Shutting down early creature strategies with Cut Down and  Sheoldred’s Edict
  • Tutor for what you need with Beseech the Mirror
  • Creature destruction from Go for the Throat and Pile On

4.) Mono Red Aggro

This Dragon Hydra only gets more dangerous as the game goes on.

This is a pure aggro deck that uses cheap creatures and burn spells to end the game before your opponent can get started. Red has a lot of creatures with haste to get started fast, and a good number of flying creatures that are tough to block, such as Phoenix Chick and Shivan Devastator. This deck also has a few tricks for the later game, being able to force the last few points of health from your enemy with Lightning Strike, and some combat shenanigans with Monstrous Rage. This deck should end games within the first five to ten turns.

What this deck excels at:

  • Early aggressive creatures like Phoenix Chick and Monastery Swiftspear
  • Burn damage from Lightning Strike
  • Creature theft with Twisted Fealty

Decklist:

  • 4 Shivan Devastator

  • 2 Twisted Fealty
  • 1 Palantír of Orthanc
  • 18 Mountain
  • 3 Battlefield Forge

3.) Gruul Burn

Combine with direct damage spells for a heavy hit.

This deck thrives on an early strategy, using cheap creatures like Monastery Swiftspear and Electrostatic Infantry to benefit from casting spells. It gives you many cheap burn options with Shock, Lightning Strike and Melt Through. Perilous Iteration is a helpful utility, allowing you to tutor for Fiery Inscription and another card, as Fiery Inscription can deal a serious amount of direct damage and is the only card in this deck that costs three or more mana. There’s plenty of ways for this deck to refuel with cards like Perilous Iteration, Wrenn’s Resolve, and Questing Druid.

What this deck excels at:

  • 2 Forest
  • 8 Mountain
  • 4 Karplusan Forest
  • 4 Copperline Gorge
  • 4 Captivating Crossroads

2.) Mono White Soldiers

No more counterspells.

This is a fast aggro deck that takes advantage of soldier synergies through cards such as Valiant Veteran, Siege Veteran, and Myrel, Shield of Argive. This deck is very consistent because of the lack of mana pressure, and Lay Down Arms is efficient removal against other aggro decks. Myrel, Shield of Argive is capable of completely breaking stalled boards and can allow you to snowball your board state into a win.

1. Ratadrabik Combo by Cardakeys

Boromir is infinite with Ratadrabik.

This deck focuses on combos, looking to get Ratadrabik of Urborg up alongside Boromir, Warden of the Tower to create an infinite sacrifice loop. You can sacrifice Boromir, which creates a copy of it . That copy is a non-legendary 2/2. You can then make that 2/2 legendary using “The Ring Tempts You” triggers, allowing you to sacrifice and copy it again, and again, and again. All you need to turn this state into a win is a way to utilize your endless loop. This can be done with either Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim that provides infinite damage, or Smeagol, Helpful Guide which can mill through the opponent’s entire deck by using “The Ring Tempts You” triggers. The rest of this deck is mostly made up of utility in order to build your combo as soon as possible

What this deck excels in:

  • Infinite Sacrifice from Ratadrabik and Boromir
