Even as trends in both film and fashion come and go, one thing remains consistent; audience's thirst for the hottest and latest horror flicks. Horror fans have a lot to look forward to in 2018 with anticipated sequels, the seeming death of found footage, and a few unique finds. Here are 10 upcoming horror titles.

15. Halloween 2018

All Hallows Eve hasn't been the same since 1978 when masked killer Michael Myers started his annual October rampage. Forty years and sequels later, Michael is back to terrorize a new generation. Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her slasher movie roots reprising her role as Laurie Strode in this David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express) directed feature. Opens nationwide October 19.

14. Hereditary

In his feature debut, director Ari Aster tells the story of a family mourning the death of their matriarch only to discover dark secrets about their ancestry. In an age where DNA testing is the norm, nothing could be more terrifying than finding out where you truly come from.

13. Unsane

The Crown's Claire Foy shows off more of her amazing acting chops in this hidden gem about a woman escaping her stalker and questioning her own sanity after she unwillingly signs herself up for a stay in a mental health hospital. Indie director Steven Soderbergh of Sex, Lies, and Videotape fame creates a masterpiece of psychological terror shot on an iPhone 7 Plus.

12. Under the Silver Lake

David Robert Mitchell who brought us It Follows directs Andrew Garfield in this film about a young man who becomes obsessed with a billionaire's murder and the kidnapping of the girl next door he's fallen in love with. As he investigates further, he discovers a dark conspiracy. Hits theaters June 22.

11. Ghost Stories

Playwrights Jeremy Dyson and Andy Nyman adapted their own stage play about a skeptic professor who investigates three different hauntings with terrifying consequences.

10. A Quiet Place

With an atmospheric and super creepy trailer, The Quiet Place is one of the most intriguing upcoming horror titles. John Karsinski makes his horror directorial debut starring his real-life wife Emily Blunt about a noise-hating unseen force.

9. Mom & Dad

Everyone's favorite meme, Nicolas Cage stars alongside 90's darling Selma Blair in this entertaining romp directed by Crank and Crank 2's Brian Taylor. This limited release horror comedy tells the story of a 24-hour epidemic where parents turn on their children.

8. Slender Man

The infamous creepy pasta finally hits the big screen on August 24, 2018. Internet lore meets supernatural terror in this adaptation of the legend that inspired a real-life brutal stabbing in 2014. Sylvain White director of I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer brings the lanky monster alive in this much-anticipated film.

7. Truth or Dare

A remake of a forgotten 80's movie gets an update in this collaboration between horror giant Blumhouse Productions and Kick Ass 2 director Jeff Wadlow. A group of friends playing the classic slumber party game start dying when they lie or refuse a dare. Opens on April 13, 2018.

6. Primal Rage

Bigfoot is no longer lurking in the shadows in this creature feature. When a couple gets lost in the dense forests of the Pacific Northwest, they find themselves under attack by the legendary cryptid. Former special effects artist turned director Patrick Magee uses his skills to bring the forest dwelling monster to life.

5. Polaroid

Throwback technology gets a supernatural horror twist. Lars Klevberg's second directorial credit tells the story of a teenager girl who finds a Polaroid camera that inflicts harm on those photographed with it. Based on Klevberg's short film of the same name, Polaroid has been pushed back for a USA release for several years after previous releases in both Brazil and Romania.

4. Blood Fest

The SXSW hit takes a horror convention and turns it into a bloodbath where attendees are forced to take their knowledge of their favorite genre into a fight for survival. Writer and director of the 2016 film The Axe Murders of Villisca, Owen Egerton delivers a refreshing horror comedy with a unique premise.

3. Summer of '84

The 80's nostalgia trend gets another dark twist in this horror flick about a group of friends who suspect their police officer neighbor of being a serial killer. Directed by Anouk Whissell, François Simard, and Yoann-Karl Whissell, Summer of '84 promises to deliver a horror/thriller reminiscent t of the VHS age.

2. The Purge 4: The First Purge

The breakout franchise gets a prequel that tells the story of the first Purge and the new founding fathers who started it. Things have been pretty tight-lipped about the next installment in the series, but based on the trailer we can expect a politically charged theme with a dash of horror. Gerard McMurray makes his big budget directorial debut on none other than July 4.

1. The Strangers: Prey at Night

A sequel a decade in the making finally hit theaters March 9. The masked killers are back in action thanks to Johannes Roberts ,director of the horrifying shark flick 47 Meters Down. With axe-wielding strangers and the triumphant return of Michael Myers later in 2018, it looks like the slasher movie is back.
