The game takes place in 1987, shortly after a terrorist attack has killed 23 people. Your a journalist working to uncover the truth about the recent passing of a law, The Union Act, that threatens the freedom of the British people. The title allows the player a lot of freedom of choice and is strongly driven by storyline. A couple interesting things about the upcoming game are:
- Characters in the game are free thinking AI and involved with the storyline. This allows for a bunch of unique responses and outcomes, potentially increasing the replay value.
- Abandoning traditional gaming systems (health bar, stamina, etc.), "The Occupation" instead uses a combination of stealth/dialogue and "time-outs" to influence the players ability to gather information.
- Freedom of choice. Do you keep your mouth shut about the information you find? or, do your job as a journalist and share it with the masses?
I honestly am a big fan of story-driven games. This especially rings true when a title is willing to abandon traditional systems in favor of experimenting with something new. The concept of constant progression, stealth, and a strong narrative all sound exciting to me. I personally can't wait to get my hands on this title.
