See? Not all cartoons have to be angsty and deep. Just give us something to laugh about! 

10. Cow and Chicken 

In suburbia lives a happy family of a wife and husband with their cow and chicke-I mean, SON and DAUGHTER. Visit the every life of this [somehow biological] sibling duo. Whether it’s school, the opposite gender, superhero identities, and especially dealing with the flamboyant “devil” himself Red Guy. 

What Ren and Stimpy didn’t have, it was this. 

This show got away with a lot for a 90s cartoon. And that’s what made childhood the best!  

The humor was hilariously weird. Somehow characters eating “pork butts” flew over my head when I was a kid.  

There is a lot more ass in this show than a Nicki Minaj music video. But we never minded because it was actually funny (and not sexually explicit).   

And let’s not forget the I Am Weasel segments! We all wanted to be like Weasel, yet we eventually ended up like I.R. Baboon.  

9. Dave the Barbarian  

While the king and queen are out fighting evil across the globe, they leave their teen daughter Candy to watch the kingdom. Of course, she would rather hang with her friends than worry about what happens to Udrogoth. Along with her unwillingness for responsibility, there’s her younger brother Dave who's as strong as ten men...but has the bravery of a ladybug. Her Uncle Oswidge is a self-made wizard whose spells often result in disaster. Faffy, a dumb dragon with a single digit IQ. And their pet monkey-sorry, I mean, little sister Fang (who’s got less manners than a caveman).  

This show was so short-lived and underrated. Yet it was way funnier than most of the sh*t Disney Channel cooked up. 

I preferred THIS over The Proud Family.  

Chuckles the Silly Piggy might have been the “antagonist” of Dave the Barbarian, but at least he wasn’t a complete asshole like most of the characters on Proud Family.  

Lacienega, Dijonay, Oscar, and even Zoe were absolute toxic characters who deserved no comfort or forgiveness for all the sh*t they’ve done (especially to Penny).  

Hell, I’d rather call Dave’s family the real PROUD people than Penny’s crazy, selfish folks.  

And If I had the power, I would get rid of that upcoming (and already disappointing) “Louder and Prouder” spin-off just for this show to come back.  

8. Chowder  

A young boy with an appetite for life (and any food he can get his hands on) must take his apprenticeship seriously if he’s to inherit Mung Daal’s catering business one day. Of course, what’s making a recipe without a little fun? Every episode is always a new dish to be served. And every character is like food: give it a chance before you really judge. 6 out of the 10 you might end up hating it though.  

Also known as the GREATEST FOURTH WALL BREAKING SHOW IN CARTOON HISTORY.  

There was an episode where the characters realized they were out of money, which meant they couldn’t fund the episode they were currently running. They literally cut to the voice actors interacting with each other, while doing their character voices. And they all had to wash cars in order to continue the episode! It was AMAZING!  

It’s too bad Cartoon Network got rid of this show to make room for their unfunny, untalented, uncreative ideas. Like Out of Jimmy’s Head...  

7. 2 Stupid Dogs 

Known as Little Dog and Big Dog according to the credits, these canines are an inseparable duo always on the lookout for food. Sometimes they often bite off more than they can chew. Granted, it’s not usually them that gets chewed. But hey, whatever, isn’t that stuff cute? BUT IT’S STILL WROOOOONG! 

A Hanna-Barbera cartoon that was ahead of its time.  

How is it that two really dumb dogs were able to know about the meaning of love, war, peace, and freaking gambling? 

Because they do. And because humanity has lost a lot of brain cells since the 90s.  

There was actually an episode that parodied Noah's Ark. A world populated by just those two dogs sounds like a greater paradise than even the Garden of Eden.  

6. Timon and Pumbaa  

Based on the timeless Disney classic “The Lion King” features the lives of Timon and Pumbaa. Whether it’s working to get that grub or working around each other, these two will not fail to entertain you. And if you’re wondering “What about Simba?”, don’t worry! There actually are some episodes that include him, Zazu, Rafiki, and especially the hyenas! 

I am probably the only one, but in my opinion, “The Lion King 1 ½” was WAY better than the original Lion King film. (Fight me) 

Timon and Pumbaa took every doubt and anxious thought I ever had and beat it up like they did with those vultures in the first movie. 

They were the relief characters to The Lion King, The Lion King 2, and especially that series that takes place within the second movie known as The Lion Guard.  

They just barely honored these guys in the live-action one though. In fact, I REFUSE to call that one a Lion King film because Disney’s changed.  

5. Fanboy and Chum Chum 

Two boys who live in a water tower are would-be superheroes Fanboy and Chum Chum. Always dressed in trademark costumes, with their underwear over their getups. Fun, optimistic, and usually causing chaos, they live among a hilarious cast of other weirdos. Whether it’s hanging out with their unwilling wizard friend Kyle, hanging out at Oz’s comic shop, or meeting their beloved hero Man-Artica, it’s never dull in Galaxy Hills! 

Before we were blessed with Glitch Techs, Eric Robles blessed us with this wacky blessing/abomination. 

Say what you will about FBCC, but this show was quite amazing for a CGI cartoon (and those things usually suck because of stiff movement).  

Every character, whether front, back, or in-between, had their moment to shine. My favorite moments are the ones that involve Dollarnator or Oz.  

Because what other show has a retro gaming machine Terminator parody character and a Comic Book Guy duplicate?  

Fanboy and Chum Chum were characters that represented the people we wish we could just be without worrying about embarrassing ourselves. And there are moments in this series where you do sort of feel that secondhand embarrassment.  

This cartoon was ballsy. And that’s why it’s so good (or so bad it’s just so good)!

4. Johnny Bravo  

Handsome, ripped, yet still can’t get a girlfriend. Johnny tries every pick-up line just to get a woman to notice him. Oh, yeah, they totally notice him. Right before he starts noticing the ground and the stars circling his head. Watch the daily life of a man, who still lives with his momma, try to find the woman of his dreams. 

I always felt bad whenever he never got the girl. But he was just trying WAY too hard.  

Well, not as hard as Mordecai from Regular Show. Johnny was no simp!  

But not all episodes focused on Johnny finding a woman.  

His adventures often involved dealing with finding the perfect brand for his hair. Helping his momma win a baking competition. Or arguing with a literal demon.  

Ladies, how can you reject a man who’s not afraid to admit that he enjoys being babied by his momma on occasion?    

3. Goof Troop  

Goofy Goof is a single, loving father who would do anything for his son. Max, despite often being embarrassed by his dad’s clumsiness, would do the same. They live next door to Max’s best friend P.J., who’s father Pete often tries to one-up Goofy. Every day the Goofs wind up in one chaotic situation after another. And quite often or not Pete gets the brunt of it (as a greedy cheater like him should).

One of the most popular shows of the Disney Afternoon era alongside Darkwing Duck and TailSpin. 

You know Goofy is like the best Disney dad ever. And practically the funniest cartoon dad of all time! 

True satisfaction was hearing the iconic yell. Truer satisfaction was hearing Max do it.  

And the most satisfying bits were when Pete got his ass handed to him. Or get in trouble with his wife (which was way worse).  

Growing up with this show, I know for a fact I wasn’t the only one who absolutely HATED Pete. Even the Pete from the House of Mouse universe wasn’t as hostile as the one in Goof Troop. 

Actually, it does make sense. In other media, Pete is known as Pete the Cat.  

In Goof Troop, he’s a total bitch.  

2. Ed, Edd, n’ Eddy  

Three outcasts living in the cul-de-sac spend their adolescent days trying to come up with a money-making scam. Eddy, the smooth talker, who will do anything for a quick quarter. Edd, aka Double D, the intelligent, more mannered of the trio who invents for said scams. And Ed, the dumb muscle but lovable chum that completes the group. No matter what it takes (or how many bruises they’ll get), they will make that money in order to get jawbreakers.  

An absolute gem of the good ol’ Cartoon Network days.  

The kind of show where kids endured Looney Tunes type of humor and pain. I am still laughing over the “Mucky Boys” episode!  

But believe or not, this show did go into tearjerker territory.  

“Big Picture Show” made all of us grown kids cry. No other CN show (not even Steven Universe) will ever have as good a series finale as this one. 

And that “sextant” joke forever lives on as the ultimate adult joke for kids! 

1. Animaniacs 

Warner brothers Yakko and Wakko and their sister Dot often escape the water tower to terrorize the studio. While they may serve as a nuisance, the network, and the entire cast know they are what keeps the entire “family-esque” show together. Whether it’s messing around with celebrities, educating us on world history, or challenging the censors. The jokes never get old! 

How many 90s kids were excited when Hulu brought this show back after 22 years? 

Yeah, that was one of the few good things that made 2020 bearable.  

I don’t need to explain why this is #1 on the list.  

For god’s sake, the 2020 reboot got away with saying “dick”! In the 1993 version, they got away with the “fingerprints” joke, which involved the Purple Rain man himself.
