Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is the fourth in the Harry Potter series. Harry, the boy who lived, is forced to participate in the Triwizard Tournament, a dangerous contest between three magic schools that tests your values and your integrity as a person. Full of childish fights and, let’s be honest, unfortunate haircuts, it is nonetheless quite dark and, at times, sinister, especially considering that it introduces the first death that we, viewers, get to witness directly.

35. How to Train Your Dragon

Some say a dragon is a man’s best friend.

Now, Hiccup must convince the rest of the village that dragons are not their enemy, and that humans and dragons can not only co-exist, but live together in peace and harmony.

Personnel changes are not the biggest challenges the trio must face this year. Harry’s ultimate enemy is closer than ever, and he has even found ways to sneak into once safe walls of Hogwarts.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is arguably the best movie in the Harry Potter series, even if it’s just my opinion. Not only does it satisfy our cravings for newly emerged romantic relationships, but also for comedy and humour in the lives of our favourite characters.

You won’t find such creatures in a regular zoo!

The Monsters, Incorporated factory supplies many monsters with jobs that combine pleasure with hard work. All you need to do is to enter the door that is a special portal to a child’s bedroom closet, and then roar at them from the bottom of your lungs to get a good, loud, scared scream.  That’s where Sulley and Mike work, with one having slightly better chances at becoming the employee of the month than the other one. But a lot changes when they accidentally bring a human baby girl back into their world — an unspeakable thing to do, and one that they must keep a secret from everyone. But when they begin to get emotionally attached to the girl, this complicates things even more. What are they even supposed to do with a human girl in the world of monsters?

Dobby, a friend in disguise, is clearly against Harry returning to school, and for a good reason. There’s an evil plot unravelling, threatening all the half-born and muggle-born students. Harry, Ron, and Hermione will have to brush up on their spider-fighting, potion-brewing, snake-language-speaking skills if they want to solve yet another Hogwarts mystery and save the day again.

23. Beauty and the Beast

Real beasts live among humans.

Beauty and the Beast - Trailer

Have you ever heard the story of a girl trapped in a castle and forced to live her days in the company of a scary beast? I’m sure you have, but this one is an especially beautiful execution with Emma Watson in the role of Belle. A musical and an adventure, it is charming, romantic, and at times very, very sad. It’s everything you would want it to be, and it ruthlessly un-sugarcoats the topics of inward and outward beauty.

1. Spirited Away

In the land of spirits

Spirited Away - Trailer

Chihiro and her parents are on the way to their new home when they discover a strange city with empty streets. It looks like it’s hosting some sort of food festival, for its tants are stocked with the most delicious food. Chihiro helplessly watches her parents slowly turn into pigs as they are eating, and she is forced to hide in a city full of ghosts. She finds a job in the castle, but has to hide the fact that she is a human. While she is waiting for a chance to reunite with her family and leave this strange place, she’s making friends and getting attached to some of the weird residents of the castle, impacting their lives in ways they would never expect.

Arguably the best work of Studio Ghibli, Spirited Away is a spiritual journey of self-discovery and of the messages that Hayao Miyazaki, its director, is trying to get through by using symbols and allegories.
