[Top 5] Epic Seven Best Knights That Are Excellent

What do you think of when you hear the word "knight"? A tank? A valiant warrior?

Knights are a versatile class in Epic Seven, with units that can be built for tanking or for damage. Some knights can be a hybrid of both, with many possessing damaging skills that scale with the unit’s HP. Here are five great knights that you can get in Epic Seven!

5. Adventurer Ras

A former vagabond turned amazing team supporter.

Ras is the protagonist of Epic Seven, and a unit all players get for free. He can undergo a specialty change to become Adventurer Ras - and this version of Ras has incredible utility in all game modes.

What makes Adventurer Ras great:

Specialty change abilities

  • Adventurer Ras gains so much utility with his specialty change that it can be almost staggering to list it all - increased bulk, speed, bulk for the team, shields for the team, defense break, combat readiness increases… The host of abilities that Adventurer Ras gains makes him an incredible team player for both PVP and PVE, keeping both himself and his allies strong on the battlefield.

Skill two

  • Adventurer Ras’s second skill was also bolstered with his specialty change and is one of the few forced dual attacks in the game. With his second skill, Adventurer Ras has a 60% chance to defense break for one turn and forces a dual attack from the ally with the highest attack stat on the team, while also granting himself and said ally a two-turn immunity buff. The skill can be soul burned to be used every turn, at a cheap 10 soul cost. 

Accessibility

  • Because of his base 3* rarity, the fact that he is given for free, and the lack of cooldown skill upgrades, Adventurer Ras is a cheap, easy, and accessible unit to build. You don’t need molagoras to build him, and if you don’t care about his damage you can skip the catalysts for skill enhancements, too. Just stock up on red runes and you’ll be good to go!

4. Falconer Kluri

A girl who always gets the job done alongside her dutiful companion.

Falconer Kluri is an old faithful unit that is still used in many PVP and PVE scenarios. With her base 3* rarity and specialty change abilities, Falconer Kluri is still a great asset to many different teams.

What makes Falconer Kluri great:

Specialty change status

  • Falconer Kluri’s specialty change status makes her an easy and accessible unit to build, while also providing her with great additional abilities on top of her basic kit. With her specialty change, Falconer Kluri can increase her defense, speed, and the combat readiness granted to herself and her allies at the end of her turn. She also increases her damage, grants herself a barrier at full health, and can also heal allies at the beginning of her turn with her passive. 

Skill three

  • Falconer Kluri’s third skill has several useful effects: it strips one enemy of all buffs and applies a two-turn defense break debuff and a two-turn provoke debuff. Falconer Kluri is one of the only units that can execute all of these useful abilities at once, and on top of this, her third skill can be soul burned to ignore effect resistance, meaning that it is guaranteed to land on any target. It’s also a non-attack skill, meaning it doesn’t rely on hit chance and can be great for units that can counter or units with evasion.

Passive ability

  • Falconer Kluri’s passive ability directly contributes to her bulk by healing her by up to 10% of her health at the beginning of her turn. This makes her into a pseudo-healer - and with her specialty change, this effect is granted to her allies. For team compositions where you can’t use a healer, Falconer Kluri can be a great addition to keep her teammates and herself healthy.

3. Yulha

A leader of the Wicked who delights in torturing her enemies.

One of the newest knights to be added to the game, Yulha has proven her worth as both a tank and damage dealer in PVP, especially in AI-controlled game modes such as Arena and Guild war.

What makes Yulha great:

Passive ability

  • Yulha’s passive ability allows her to reflect 30% of the damage dealt to her by single attacks, and activates the skill Murderous Intent when her health goes below 30%. Murderous Intent grants her a full cleanse, a thick barrier, and pushes her combat readiness significantly. This protects her from further damage and allows her to use her third skill freely.

Skill three

  • Yulha’s third skill is a damaging skill that can fully penetrate defense and has damage that scales with Yulha’s lost HP. Yulha was released as a counter to Hwayoung, one of the most meta-relevant units at the time of writing - Hwayoung can damage Yulha, but usually can’t kill her, meaning that she leaves Yulha with enough HP lost to take out either Hwayoung or Hwayoung’s teammates. If Yulha secures a kill with her third skill, she also restores her own HP, meaning she can tank out even more attacks and sustain more damage to whittle her HP down and do big damage on subsequent uses of her third skill (if the battle lasts that long).

Bulk

  • Yulha has high base HP, and is meant to be built bulky - this allows her to tank hits while also increasing the damage she can do with her third skill. The tankier she is, the longer she survives, and the harder she can hit.

2. Summer Break Charlotte

The Lady of La Mare who's gone for a beach vacation!

The newest summer limited hero in the Epic Seven roster, Summer Break Charlotte is a fun, offensive knight to use with her damage-focused skill set and dual attack abilities. 

What makes Summer Break Charlotte great:

Enhanced dual attack

  • Summer Break Charlotte possesses a unique buff in her kit, Enhanced Dual Attack, which cannot be dispelled by the enemy. The buff, which activates after every four ally turns, makes it so that Summer Break Charlotte is the unit who dual attacks when she is able to - either with regular dual attacks or forced dual attacks with random allies, such as those possessed in the kits of Lilias, Conqueror Lilias, and Cerise. When using a dual attack, Summer Break Charlotte’s basic skill turns into an uncounterable AOE attack that has a 60% chance to defense break the enemy for a single turn. The buff dispels itself after Summer Break Charlotte attacks, but it can passively stack through ally turns, meaning that she can be granted it even if she has just used a dual attack. 

Damage potential

  • Summer Break Charlotte’s kit is all about enhancing her damage potential: h her passive ability grants her up to 20% additional critical hit chance, lowering her gear requirements. It also grants her 15 Fighting Spirit for every dual attack, which her kit focuses on - when her Fighting Spirit is full, she dispels all debuffs from herself before granting herself an attack buff for two turns and resetting her skill cooldowns. Her third skill’s damage scales in proportion to the target’s lost health, and she has the ability to defense break on her basic skill - all of this adds to Summer Break Charlotte’s damage directly or indirectly.

Uncounterable

  • Summer Break Charlotte possesses a similar utility to Specter Tenebria with her uncounterable altered basic skill. When dual attacking, Summer Break Charlotte’s basic skill turns into an AOE skill that can’t be countered - meaning she can bypass the countering abilities of units like Martial Artist Ken, Spirit Eye Celine, Violet, Rem, and any other unit that can counter in their kit or through their gear. Counters are a huge part of the Epic Seven metagame at the moment, so being able to bypass this mechanic is, on its own, incredibly useful.

1. Belian

The automatic doll-turned-leader of Politia, in her transformed state.

As a unit that immediately changed the meta upon release, Belian has stayed prevalent in PVP game modes and is still a threat to many teams.

What makes Belian great:

Passive ability

  • The crowning feature of Belian’s passive is her ability to deny the enemy team of souls. Soul burning is an integral part of the game and can be used to turn the tide of battle quickly; by denying the enemy of souls, Belian renders certain units' skills and the meta artifact Tagehel’s Ancient Book useless. Additionally, she can grant herself one random buff at the beginning of her turn, which, depending on the buff, can make her incredibly annoying to deal with. 

Damage potential

  • With her HP-scaling skills that have high multipliers, Belian has the potential to deal massive amounts of AOE damage to the enemy. Her basic skill has the chance to proc an extra attack, applying useful debuffs to the enemy, and can be soul burned to guarantee the extra attack. Pair this with an artifact like Elbris Ritual Sword and counter or injury sets, and Belian quickly becomes a threat on the battlefield.

Bulk

  • Belian’s bulk translates directly to her damage and survivability. All of her damage scales with her HP, meaning she can be built bulky without having to worry about her attack stat. Her bulk also makes it difficult to take her down, especially after she uses her third skill, which grants her a two-turn defense buff.
