#3. GM_BIGCITY

Moving out of Garry’s mod’s default maps and up into the Bigcity is the first showcase in this article to be a Steam add-on and places number one in most downloaded.

This map is great for builders and roleplaying servers because of its notably large flat grass area, and because it's such a large map.

Gm_Bigcity was created by an author named “Bigwig” and with its 2.9 million subscriptions, there's no wonder why this sandbox played such a vital role in the GMOD community.

Like gm_flatgrass, this sandbox gives off a mysterious and lonely vibe, almost as if the author is keeping secrets…

Whether you like this map or not, there is no denying that this map will go down as one of the most popular maps in GMOD history. My grandkids will probably be playing on this one.

Created by “Vamp” and with over 800k subscribers, this map is an icon for many players.

Initially, the map may appear to be a typical 7-Eleven, but if you’ve reached this point in the list, you’ll know that appearances can be deceiving.

Exploring the map further, you’ll discover an elevator that becomes increasingly scary as you descend.

When you reach the bottom, you’ll see multiple red eyes staring at you in the distance. As you continue to explore, the basement gets more and more unsettling…

If you want my opinion… Gm_7eleven is possibly one of the most intriguing maps in Gmod.

Rp_downtown is a vast map providing economic diversity for many play styles. It features slums, warehouses, hotels, a town square, and numerous other areas.

Created by “ThePro”, but there are rumors that the map’s original creator committed suicide around 11 years ago and haunts players on the map to this very day.

This map is famous for its various ‌props and hiding spots, but not only that, many influencers like Vanossgaming, H20delirious, Pewdiepie, and many more solidified its spot as the greatest prop hunt map in Garry’s Mod.

My experience with gm _fork as a 14-year-old kid; this map blew my mind away. The sheer size of it made me feel like a top-tier adventurer.

“Almos”, the creator of this map, may have created one of the best racing tracks in Garry’s Mod history.

Currently with 1.3+ million subscribers, many memories have been made with his amazingly fun map. One of its notable features is this big road loop that you see in cartoons.

Gm_HIghway offers a relaxed environment for solo or grouped activities like racing, cruising, or testing cars.

I fondly remember the days when my friends and I would race our fastest cars, attempting and failing to navigate ‌around the loop… Ah, the memories.
