1. Trick-or-Treating

The Halloween candy is the best part of this old tradition.

Trick-or-treating is one of the greatest Halloween traditions. Children and adults partake in this activity. Traveling from home to home to collect candy and treats is so exciting and fun.

There are many great aspects to why it is such a wonderful part of the season:

• Dressing up in costume is amazing. You can be anyone or anything you choose to be for one night. 
• The candy is the main attraction and arguably the best part of the whole night.
• Halloween decorations are so magical and unique at each house you visit.
• Spending time with friends and family makes it a special time.

2. Visiting a pumpkin patch

Colorful pumpkins are ripe for picking.

Pumpkin patches are so nostalgic and are a great way to spend a cozy fall afternoon. Picking the perfect pumpkin is essential for carving up Jack-o-Lanterns or baking the perfect pie. There are so many shapes and sizes to choose from.

Visiting a pumpkin patch is a must during the fall season. There are many reasons that make this a great activity such as:

• The atmosphere is cozy and fun which is a great start to the spooky season.

• Some pumpkin patches are near a corn maze which is a bonus activity that is equally as fun

• You can spend quality time with friends and family while enjoying the outdoors

3. Enjoy Halloween Baking

Halloween cookies are so spooky and cute.

Baking festive and delicious treats is a wonderful way to celebrate. Not only are you able to get creative with decorating, you get to enjoy eating them! There are so many great recipes for cookies, cakes, pies and even savory items if you don’t have much of a sweet tooth. 

The whole experience of baking is multifaceted and fun for a myriad of reasons:

•  The sights, smells, and tastes create an immersive feeling

• Sharing homemade treats is always a nice gesture for your loved ones

• There is no limit to what you can create

4. Pumpkin Carving

Halloween is incomplete without a grinning gourd.

Jack-O-Lanterns are a wonderful way to showcase holiday spirit while also keeping the evil spirits at bay. Carving up a pumpkin is an activity rooted in Celtic tradition. It is just a great way to spend an evening and if you like you can even roast up the seeds for a healthy snack. 

Carving pumpkins is my favorite activity for a few reasons such as:

• The smell of pumpkins is wonderful

• You can carve up something creepy or something cute

• Pumpkins are the biggest icon of Halloween

• Pumpkin carving contests are competitive but exhilarating

5. Haunted House Attractions

The foreboding attraction stimulates new fears as it looms overhead.

Haunted Houses are the best part of Halloween. The thrills and chills that they provide is what makes it the perfect activity. When night falls, creatures and monsters call you to join them. 

It is unfortunate that these attractions are mostly seasonal but there are so many reasons why it is one the best parts of  Halloween:

• The scare actors bring the haunted attractions to life

• The atmosphere is drenched in fake fog and the heavenly scent of kettle corn

• Being scared is absolutely invigorating

• Observing other people experiencing fear is definitely entertaining

6. Halloween Movie Marathons

HalloweenTown is one of the best movies to watch this Autumn.

Hosting a Halloween movie marathon is a very popular way to celebrate the spooky holiday. There are different types of movies to indulge in from mildly scary to extreme tales of terror. Everyone from Disney to Universal has dipped their toes in this genre of media. 

Movie marathons are an excellent way to spread holiday cheer and are fantastic in many ways:

• They are an excellent way to spend an evening in

• Delicious snacks are usually a part of the night

• Horror movies are a staple during Halloween

• There are usually a plethora of TV specials this time of the year

7. Go apple picking

The beautiful fall leaves magnify the beauty of the apple orchard.

Apple picking is a great way to enjoy the outdoors during the changing of the season. The leaves are falling,the apples are ripe for picking, and the air is crisp with the chill of fall. Spending time in nature is beneficial for many reasons:

• Quality time with friends and families contributes to fond memories 

• The apples picked fresh are delicious for baking or just eating off the branch

• It is so fun to try and find the perfect apple 

• The colors of the leaves are nostalgic and warm

  8. Decorating your home

The cute and spooky decorations remind us that Halloween is near.

Decorating your home inside and out is my favorite part of the whole season. Halloween decor has become more popular in modern times and there are so many different variations on the market. You can decorate your space spooky and cute or creepy and terrifying. The only limit is your imagination. 

Halloween decor is an expression of your creativity. Your Halloween spirit can truly be brought to life with the right decorations. This activity is so much fun because:

• It is a wonderful way to share your halloween spirit with everyone

• It reminds us that the spookiest time of year is finally here

• You can be as creative as you want to be

• Halloween animatronics are superior to any other outside decorations

  9. Halloween arts and crafts

Colorful Halloween crafts can brighten anyone’s day.

Making arts and crafts is fun and functional. You can use these crafts as your own personal decorations or give them out as party favors. Painting pumpkins, floating candles, and even cardboard roll mummies are just a few examples of some crafting ideas. 

Crafting is not only a relaxing pastime, but a very enjoyable activity for reasons such as:

• It can reduce stress
• The whole process is exciting especially seeing the end product
• You can display your work for others to enjoy
• They can be enjoyed for many years after construction

10. Throw a Halloween party

Everyone loves a good Halloween party.

Halloween parties are a great way to celebrate. Throwing on a costume and enjoying great music, food and games is one of the most wonderful ways to spend October 31st. Keeping your guests entertained all night is the key to a great get together. 

Halloween Parties are amazing and are fun for these reasons:

• Themed food and drinks

• Spooky soundtracks are playing setting the mood

• Games are played and prizes are able to be won

• Costume contests get everyone involved and carry the theme throughout the night

• The candy and treats you accumulate will last for weeks if you are lucky
