Zhask, a supreme alien force. A hero that caters to multiple roles because of his unique skill set and abilities. He can take the mid lane, the offlane, and even the gold lane giving the late-game marksmen a hard time even during the early parts of the match.

Zhask’s abilities rely on his spawns that cover a large area giving Zhask the space to move and the vision against his rivals. He has exceptional skills up his sleeve. Fear him as he uses his abilities to outnumber anyone who tries to oppose him.

3. Low Cooldown Build

This build focuses on giving Zhask the shortest wait time on his skills. His boots are heavily focused on cooldown reduction, while the early items also reduce CD, allowing him to spam his skills as much as possible in the early game.

This build is perfect for Zhask because he relies on his skills to deal heavy damage and inflict crowd control. The low cooldown can be crucial, primarily when the team relies on Zhask for damage.

By focusing on cooldown-reducing items paired with magic damage-increasing items, Zhask becomes a damage powerhouse that can contribute big numbers during team fights.

  • You want to spam skills
  • Prefer a balanced playstyle of both offensive and defensive
  • Deal damage in the early game

Try this out against enemies that want to burst you down fast, you can utilize Zhask’s ultimate during Saber’s ganks to survive and possibly turn the tide against the enemy. The low CD increases the times Zhask can use his ultimate.

1. Magic Shoes (710) - gives +40 movement speed and +10 CD reduction

2. Clock of Destiny (1950) - gives magic power, HP, and mana. Has a stackable passive that gives HP and magic power over time. A good early-game item for mages.

3. Lightning Truncheon (2250) - provides magic power, mana and cooldown reduction on top. Passive increases magic damage every 6s which is scalable with the user's mana.

4. Calamity Reaper (1950) - Enhances unit basic attacks. Grants many stats including magic power, mana, mana regen, cooldown reduction and extra damage and movement speed from passive.

5. Feather of Heaven (2030) - Deals extra magic damage from basic attack and provides a stackable increase in attack speed. Perfect for units that deal auto attack damage between skills.

6. Holy Crystal  (2180) - A basic late-game item for mages with very straightforward stats that adds 100 magic power to the user and a scalable passive of even more magic power

2. Marksman Build

An Attack Speed and Auto Attack/Basic Attack build, much like builds commonly used by marksmen in the game. The build is an unconventional Zhask build but was a usual pick in the previous patches of the game because it works wonders! Contrary to usual Zhask builds that rely heavily on skill casts, this build utilizes his summoning skills and improved stats whenever he is around his spawns. 

The build brings double the trouble to his rivals because of the improved basic attack and high magic damage output combined.  

Use this build if:

  • You plan on roaming around your spawn to deal extra damage
  • Want to push towers FAST
  • Want to keep up with enemy marksman when in gold lane

Try the build against heroes that as squishy and will be eliminated with a little bit more of damage from Zhask.

5. Holy Crystal  (2180) - A basic late-game item for mages with very straightforward stats that adds 100 magic power to the user and a scalable passive of even more magic power

6. Divine Glaive (1970) - Provides +65 magic power. Best item for Magic Penetration stats because of its passive ability that gives Magic PEN. Best item against high Magic DEF enemies.

7. (Optional) Immortality (2120): spot revival. Revives the hero when killed on top of its additional HP and Physical DEF.

1. Unlimited Mana Build

Worry not about running out of mana with this build. This is the literal kit for unlimited skill spamming with Zhask. Remove the skill budgeting using mana boots and a mana book that regens Zhask’s mana over time. A perfect build for a late-game destructor. Be an unstoppable force that spams his way to victory.

This build will melt enemies with continuous skills as long as you outlive your rivals. The combination of CD reduction and mana regen is deadly for this unit. Play safe and make plays from a distance to fully utilize the build. The high-damaging magic item wands caters to Zhask’s need for damage items to maximize his purpose as a mage. This awesome build makes it almost too easy to spam his alien spawns.

Use this build if:

  • You are building for late game
  • Want to maximize rotations without going back to the base
  • Spam skills
  • You want to do unlimited combos

Use this against a balanced enemy team with decent damage and decent defense. The magic PEN will deal with the defense, and the attack stats will deal with squishy enemies.

5. Fleeting Time (2050) - the ultimate cooldown-reducing item that provides mana, magic power, CD reduction, and 30% CD reduction to ultimate with kills and assists.

6. Genius Wand (2000) - item used for enemies with high magic def stats. Gives the user high magic power and increased movement speed. Passive is heavily focused on magic penetration to deal heavy damage to enemies.

7. (Optional) Enchanted Talisman (1870) - Gives high mana regen, magic power, HP and a 20% cooldown reduction on top.

8. (Optional) Calamity Reaper (1950) - Enhances unit basic attacks. Grants many stats, including magic power, mana, mana regen, cooldown reduction and extra damage, and movement speed from passive.

Teammates that will make Zhask awesome

Since Zhask has reliable slow and stun effects, he works best with awesome damage dealers that throw heavy blows to finish off enemies or tank heroes that will protect him while he deals damage. Zhask has a pretty low base HP so his survivability relies on his ultimate and his team.
