[Top 5] NBA 2k14 Best Builds of All Time

These are the build's for dominating the game.

NBA 2k14 continues the trend of the Mycareer mode. It’s always fun making your player that is either an exact carbon copy of you, a look-alike of your favorite celebrity, or made to look like an absolute horror show.

To get the most out of your Mycareer player, you have to make sure he plays like an absolute goat, and some builds are way better than others (sorry to fans of 5’6 rebounding PGs).

5.  6”8 Sharpshooter Shooting Guard ( For the most skilled shooters)

When it comes to any NBA 2K game you can be sure that if there's one build sure to get you scoring it’s a sharpshooter build.

High skill and high reward build like a sharpshooter is always viable in any 2K. However, 2k14 marks a significant change in the RNG and how effectively shots fall, making shooting way more complicated, with even the most skilled at timing jumpers missing good shots. But 3 points will always be more than two, so this tall SG with good speed and handling along with the best badges still works even with the more complicated shooting.

Pros:

  • Shoots lights out, and jumpers barely get blocked
  • Giant for the BackCourt positions
  • Still has a good rating for inside offense and passing

Cons:

  • Athleticism leaves a lot to be desired
  • Difficult for beginners who can't time shots
  • Takes some extended grinding to get a player to a good rating

4. 6”10 Point Forward Small Forward

Guard skills on a big man will always be OP in any 2K.

A point-forward build like this is one of the best all-around builds. You can drop dimes, score inside, and still have a decent outside shot. This build is guaranteed to be good at almost anything you need. The drawback is that the build is good at everything but not fantastic (except for passing). Some builds are way more athletic, better inside, have better jump shot ratings, and have better ratios. The Point forward is the build you use when you want a viable player in any situation, versatile but not the best.

Pros:

  • Arguably the best build for transition players
  • Versatile for many situations as a jack of all trades type build
  • Guard-like handle and skills paired with height

Cons:

  • Defense is good but not enough for any badges for steals and Eraser on blocks
  • Playmaking reliance makes it hard to use on teams with weak rosters
  • Build struggles a bit in a half-court and clock-milking team

3. 7”2 Athletic Center

Unstoppable inside the Paint.

There isn't much to explain this build since it speaks for itself. Unstoppable inside both on offense and defense. On offense, this build always gets an easy dunk or layup; if not, you can always rebound and try again with this build’s giant frame. On Defence, this build swats away any attempt that is even close to the rim and any attempt that isn't a jump shot. So If this is such an excellent player, why wouldn't it be the top build? Well, This build comes with the caveat of a 70 three-pointer with no speed or quickness at all, and passing gets tricky with such a low rating. But the dominance of this build on the inside addresses the weaknesses outside of that.

Pros:

  • Almost all shots inside are going to be easy
  • The best build for players who know how to post up
  • Gets stops in the paint consistently and can even block shots in the perimeter if you time it well.

Cons:

  • Perimeter defense is a hassle and takes some real effort on this build
  • The transition game is weak because of weak passing ratings and lack of speed
  • One-dimensional build other kinds of offense and defense are just risky and unreliable.

2. 6”11 Athletic Small Forward

Antetokounmpo, Durant, and Larry Bird all mixed into one player

This Build is so dominant and overpowered that the only reason it’s not the best is not because of its weaknesses but because of the other build's strengths. When this build drives, it’s unstoppable, and it still has a good jumper at 85 overall ratings. In addition, it has the length to bother any shot inside and cover ground on steals and passes. The most absurd thing about this build is the big man frame with 90 quickness and 85 speed, making this build the speed of a point guard and the length of a big man. Its only real weakness is maybe passing, and the lack of overall points for some badges, but those are just me nitpicking for a build that's built to be the best.

Pros:

  • Drives are unstoppable; it doesn't matter if a big or a shorter guard guards him. Your build will score
  • Length and speed mean this build can guard all five positions consistently
  • Can do almost everything you need on the court exceptionally well.

Cons:

  • Some ratings are too low to get the best versions of some badges
  • Passing isn't precisely a strength; only passable

1.6’7 Athletic PG

In My Expert Opinion,  The best build you can make on NBA 2K14

While some might prefer the 6’11 Small forward, for my money, I still think this build is the best possible build you can make in NBA 2K14. This build has no weakness. It is dominant in scoring inside and outside, can play make, defend, and does all that well. This build’s block rating and rebound rating might make you skeptical, but this build is arguably the best at getting blocks because of your height in the point guard position and the absolute speed as a help defender on post-ups and drives. You can break ankles, throw lobs, throw down vicious dunks, and sink the clutch jumper with the game on the line.

Pros:

  • Speed matched with the height to be able to finish contact inside.
  • Scoring from all three levels
  • Passing at an elite level
  • Can rack up the steals again with the length and the good ratings
  • Ratings dont showcase the dominance as a help defender getting blocks and steals when sliding down to help.
  •

Cons:

  • Badges like Eraser and Tenacious rebounder aren’t available (absolute nitpick besides this no weakness)

And that’s my pick for the best builds in 2k14. Now using these tips go out there and build the best build that’s perfect for your playstyle. Tune in next time for more -SGT
