NBA 2K19 Best PvP Builds To Beat Other Players

NBA 2K19 Best Builds
Best Builds To Dominate

What builds are the best builds in 2K19?

NBA 2K, now more than ever, is all about having the most overpowered and cheesy builds. To be the best, you have to have the most dominate archetypes, jumpshots, dribble moves, etc. This article was construscted to help the ones that are struggling to choose their build become an OP player.

Best Builds For Guards

Guards are, typically, the smaller, more skilled players on the court. Guards should be able to dominate with the ball in his hands, along with running around off the ball. Scoring and passing are the 2 most essential skills for any guard in today’s game. Here are the best guard builds that acclimate all of these different things into their game to make themselves a godly guard.

Sharpshooting Playmaker

Primary: Passing & Ballhandling

Secondary: Sharpshooting

Build Details:

Position – SG

Height – 6’5

Weight – Minimum

Wingspan - Default

Pros:

  • Very fast
  • Sharpshooting ability
  • Good isolation scorer
  • Can make teammates better
  • Many Gold badges

Cons:

  • Defense
  • Strength
  • Difficult shots

This is the prototypical guard for any offense. This build does exactly what it’s supposed to. It can dribble, shoot, make a good percentage of layups, and pass, all exceptionally well. There are a few downsides about this build, such as it’s strength and defense, but you don’t really need your guards to be immensely strong and it’s defensive woes are made up for by it’s prolific offense.

Pure Sharpshooter

Primary: Sharpshooting

Secondary: Sharpshooting

Build Details:

Position – SG

Height – 6’7

Weight – Minimum

Wingspan - Minimum

Pros:

  • Unlimited range
  • Contested 3s
  • Hall of Fame shooting badges

Cons

  • Defense
  • Versatility
  • Slower than most guards
  • One-dimensional

There is only one dimension to Sharpshooters: Shoot! That’s, pretty much, all they can do, but that’s all they NEED to do. You have someone on your team that can shoot from half court and constantly opens up the floor for everyone and you have a winning team. So much defensive focus goes on Sharpshooters that it allows every other player to dominate. Always remember that 3s are more than 2s.

Pure Shot Creator

Primary: Shot Creator

Secondary: Shot Creator

Build Details:

Position – PG

Height – 6’3

Weight – Minimum

Wingspan - Default

Pros:

  • High difficulty mid range shots
  • Ball handling
  • Open 3s off the dribble
  • Iso scoring
  • 4 Hall of Fame badges
  • Finishing in traffic

Cons:

  • Defense
  • Contested 3s
  • Catch and shoot 3s

The pure Shot Creator is the most overpowered build on 2K, and it probably has caused the greatest number of rages. Shot Creators can make any kind of shot. Fadeaways, stepbacks, spin jumpers, leaning shots, post fades, floaters, runners. You name it. What really makes it so dominant is that they can make these shots with a defender right in their face. Essentially, there is nothing the defense can do. Very Kobe/MJ-esque.

Best Builds For Wings

Wing players need to be versatile and need to be able to do a little bit (or a lot of bit) of everything. They need to be able to score, defend, rebound, and pass. They should be able to play the 2, 3, or 4 without much issue. You get the picture. Wing players need to scream versatility. Here are the most versatile, and skilled, wing players.

Lockdown Defender

Primary: Defending

Secondary: Defending

Build Details:

Position – SF

Height – 6’9

Weight – 220

Wingspan - Max

Pros:

  • Defense
  • Defense
  • DEFENSE!
  • Rebounding
  • Inside Scoring
  • Mid range jumpshot

Cons:

  • 3 point shooting
  • Ball handling

The Lockdown Defender can lock up anybody on the court, point guard through center. They will steal the ball from the best ball handlers and finish well in traffic. They, surprisingly, have a good midrange jumpshot and while, they can’t shoot 3s consistently, they can will hit corner 3s if you leave them open. This build lives and thrives off of defense, though. Every offensive minded player knows that Lockdown Defenders are the absolute last players they want to see walk onto the court against them.

Slashing Shot Creator

Primary: Shot Creating

Secondary: Driving & Finishing

Build Details:

Position: SF

Height – 6’8

Weight – 220

Wingspan – Default

Pros:

  • Offensive versatility
  • Inside-Out game
  • Open 3s
  • Difficult midrange shots
  • Finishing in traffic
  • Athleticism

Cons:

  • Contested 3s
  • Low post defense

In my opinion, this is the most versatile build in the game. This build is the LeBron-type build. The Slashing Shot Creator can do everything good, and some things great. It even has defensive badges, which is really good for an offensive oriented build. Get this build to a 94 overall for a Double Takeover and you’ll score at will. This build is godly.

Sharpshooting Slasher

Primary: Slasher

Secondary: Sharpshooting

Build Details:

Position – SF

Height – 6’8

Weight – 210

Wingspan - Default

Pros:

  • Contact layups and dunks
  • Good shooter
  • Fast without ball
  • Athleticism

Cons:

  • Creating shots
  • Rebounding
  • Defense

This is a well-rounded, balanced scorer. This build can dominate off the strength of it’s shooting and finishing combination. This player can be the focal point of any offense and can, basically, pick it’s spots on the court. Need a quick 2 points? Easy layup. Need a clutch 3? Give this player the ball. The Sharpshooting Slasher can freelance on offense and score whenever.

Best Builds For Bigs

A dominant big man can not be replaced, period. Look back at basketball history. A majority of the most dominant players ever have been big men. This means that, if you make a great big man build, the game will be shaped around you and the defense will have to cater to your game. Not only is this build dominant, but it’s also very fun. There’s a sense of pride knowing that the defenders are simply too weak or too little for you. Here are the best builds for these larger than life giants.

Pure Post Scorer

Primary: Post Scoring

Secondary: Post Scoring

Build Details:

Position – PF

Height – 7’0

Weight – 250

Wingspan - Default

Pros:

  • Endless post moves
  • Finishing strong
  • Midrange jumper
  • Will hit open 3s
  • Defending
  • Strength

Cons:

  • Speed
  • Contested shots
  • Rebounding over bigger Centers
  • Perimeter defense

There’re not too many down points for this build, but like any great warriors, it has its weaknesses. It will get beat on the glass if matched up against a Glass Cleaner. It’s too slow to really lock down quicker players out on the perimeter. It can shoot inconsistently at times. But, none of that matters when you figure out that this is the most dominant low post build in the game. All of the negativity cancels out when you score at will and can defend very well. This build will always be a focal point of any offense because it is so good. It gets every post badge on Hall of Fame, which means that you can abuse and spam these post moves and there’s nothing the defense can do about it. Just imagine a guard getting placed onto one of these behemoths. GG.

Glass Cleaner

Primary: Rebounding

Secondary: Rebounding

Build Details:

Position – C

Height – 7’3

Weight – Max

Wingspan - Max

Pros:

  • Best rebounders in the game by a ginormous margin
  • Low post defense
  • Inside scoring
  • Consistent midrange jumper
  • Strength

Cons:

  • Offensive versatility
  • Speed

Glass Cleaners dominate any other build in the rebounding department. It doesn’t matter how big, how strong, or how fast you are. You’re not going to box out a Glass Cleaner. Along with the best rebounding game, these players have very strong defense and will finish through contact. They will also hit open shots and, of course, they’re not going to shoot with a deadeye, but they can shoot good enough to keep the defense honest. If you love getting gritty and doing all of the dirty work for your team, then you will absolutely destroy defenses with this build.

Stretch Four

Primary: Sharpshooting

Secondary: Sharpshooting

Build Details:

Position – PF

Height – 6’11

Weight – Minimum

Wingspan - Default

Pros:

  • Unlimited range
  • Shooting through contests
  • Difficult shots

Cons:

  • Defense
  • Rebounding
  • Inside scoring

Stretch bigs will shoot, and hit, through any kind of contest. You can be in this player’s jersey and they will still hit the shot. What they lack in defense and strength, they more than make up for it on offense. They aren’t your prototypical big guys dominating down low and being stronger than everyone, but that’s okay. The objective of the game is to put the ball in the hoop, and this build will do that with the very best of them.
