Since I started playing FarmVille 2, Sheep have been the most profitable animal for my farm in many ways. I can safely say that I am what I am today (in FarmVille 2 world) because of my Sheep herd.

Why Sheep Are Great

• Dairy: Sheep are a good source of milk and dairy products, and their dairy has more value than Cows and Goats.
• Wool: A normal Sheep produces six units of wool in an hour, so Sheep is a constant source of coins. You can earn even more if you have a workshop by selling woolen products such as blankets and jackets, especially during the festival season.
• Fertilizer: Sheep dung is a good source of natural fertilizer for your FarmVille 2 crops.

How To Get Sheep

• Adult and baby Sheep can be purchased from FarmVille 2 market.
• Many breeds are available, for example, standard White Sheep, Cheviot Sheep, Merino Sheep, Portland Sheep, and Katahdin Sheep.
• My favorite breed of Sheep has been Merino Sheep because it produces a high(er) amount of wool compared to the other breeds.

2. Chickens

Chickens are one of the cheapest animals to buy in FarmVille 2; however, compared to other animals in terms of profitability, Chickens are a great option.

Why Chickens Are Great

• Low Maintenance: Chickens are low-maintenance animals, and you don’t need to spend much money on their growth.
• Eggs: Once your Chickens become adults, you can get coins by selling their eggs in raw form or, even better, selling egg products for higher prices.
• Fertilizer: Chickens produce natural fertilizer for your farm.

How To Get Chickens

• You can buy adult Chickens from FarmVille 2 market.
• You can buy eggs and hatch them to get chicks.
• You can also buy chicks at a lesser price and wait for them to grow.
• Chickens are available in many breeds, for example, Cochin Chicken (Gold-Laced), Sultan Chicken, Hubbard Chicken, and Ameraucana Chicken.
• Gold-Laced Cochin Chickens are my favorite because of their beauty.

3. Ducks

Like Chickens, Ducks are also a good investment and yield a lot of profit. Although ducks need a little more maintenance than Chickens, their eggs sell for a higher price.

Why Ducks Are Great

• Eggs: Duck Eggs are used as a raw material in many FarmVille 2 recipes, and you never know when a neighbor is desperate to pay double, triple, or even more for a Duck egg.
• Fertilizer: Ducks are a great source of natural fertilizer for your farm.

How To Get Ducks

• You can buy Duck chicks or adult Duck from FarmVille 2 market.
• You can also get Duck eggs and hatch them to get Duck chicks.
• There are many breeds, for example, Mallard Duck, Pekin Duck, and King Eider Duck.
• American Pekin Ducks are the most profitable ones in my experience.

4. Cows

Cows are a great animal to buy in FarmVille 2 because they yield a lot of profit and make your farm look better.

Why Cows Are Great

• Dairy: Cows are one of the primary sources of raw milk and (if you have a dairy workshop) dairy products. You can earn a lot of coins by selling dairy.
• Fertilizer: Cow dung makes great natural fertilizer for your FarmVille 2 farm.

How To Get Cows

• Cows come in many breeds in FarmVille 2, for example, Swiss Cows, Jersey Cows, Holstein Cows, Longhorn Cows, and Ayrshire Cows. They all have different prices and produce different amounts of milk and fertilizer.
• You can buy Cow babies or adult cows from FarmVille 2 market.
• Swiss Cows produce the highest amount of milk with low(er) maintenance costs.

5. Goats

Like Cows, Goats are also a great source of milk and dairy products. In many cases, Goat milk is sold for prices higher than Cow milk because of its lesser supply.

Why Goats Are Great

• Dairy: Goats are the second most used source of raw milk and dairy products (after cows) and sell for high prices.
• Fertilizer: Goats produce natural fertilizer for your farm.

How To Get Goats

• Baby and adult Goats are easily available in FarmVille 2 market.
• There are many breeds, for example, Pygmy Goat, Ibex Goat, Saanen Goat, Nubian Goat, and Boer Goats.
• Nubian Goats are my favorite because their dairy products sell for high(er) prices.

6. Horses

Horses are my personal favorite because I find them so graceful and magical. Besides adding beauty, horses have many other uses on your farm, which is why Horses are a great investment.

Why Horses are Great

• Horse Race: You can use your adult Horses in Horse Racing and win coins and other prizes if your Horse wins.
• Horseshoes: When your Horses are well-fed, they give horseshoes that sell for a minimum of 150 FarmVille 2 coins each.
• Fertilizer: Horse dung is also a great natural fertilizer for your FarmVille 2 crops.

How to Get Horses

• Adult and baby Horses are available for purchase in FarmVille 2 market.
• They come in different breeds, each having a different look and uses, for example, Black Arabian Horse, Brown Mustang Horse, White Camarillo Horse, and Gypsy Horse.
• I find Black Arabian Horses the most elegant, and they produce the biggest amount of fertilizer among all Horse breeds.

7. Rabbits

Rabbits are also a good investment in your FarmVille 2 game, especially in later levels (or) when you have Workshops to produce fur products.

Why Rabbits Are Great

• Fur: Rabbits are a great source of fancy Fur, which sells for a high price as raw material and even higher price as finished products.
• Cuteness: Rabbits are cute, and they make your farm look good.
• Fertilizer: Rabbits produce natural fertilizer for your FarmVille 2 crops.

How To Get Rabbits

• Rabbits can be purchased from FarmVille 2 market using coins.
• Among many available breeds of Rabbits, Angora Rabbit, White Rabbit, Seal point Dwarf Rabbit, and Flemish Giant Rabbit are the most popular ones.
• Seal point Dwarf Rabbits look the cutest to me, and their products sell for comparatively higher prices.

8. Pigs

Pigs are of great value in FarmVille 2 game, especially since the introduction of “Show Pigs,” which has made the game more popular.

Why Pigs Are Great

• Show Pigs: After level 20, your fully grown pigs can participate in “show pigs,” and you can collect fancy costumes (sometimes rare ones too) by feeding pigs.
• Fertilizer: Pigs are a great source of natural fertilizer for your FarmVille 2 crops.
• Antique Coins: Pigs make mud willows, which, once finished, give rare antique coins.

How To Get Pigs

• Baby and Adult Pigs are available for purchase in FarmVille 2 market.
• During some festivals, Pigs also come as gifts.
• Different breeds of Pigs are available, for example, Guinea Hog and Teacup Pigs.
• In my experience, Guinea Hog Pigs eat lesser than the other breeds.

9. Dolphins

If you are in higher levels of your FarmVille 2 game (above level 24), investing in Dolphin Ahoy will be a wise decision because it will make your farm look fancier and increase your cash flow.

Why Dolphins Are Great

• Prizes: With Dolphin Ahoy, you get a task tab, and upon completion of all the ten tasks, you win exciting prizes (I won a rare-breed sea turtle).
• Dolphin Show: You can earn many coins through the Dolphin show.

How To Get Dolphins

• On level 25, a pop-up emerges to indicate your eligibility for Dolphin Ahoy.
• When you click “Let’s go,” follow the steps and spend some coins, your Dolphin Ahoy is ready!
• A dolphin station is automatically installed in the river.

10. Pelicans

If you have an aviary in FarmVille 2, I suggest getting Pelicans. You never know what items you can find when harvesting a Pelican!

Why Pelicans Are Great

• Coins: You can get many coins when harvesting your aviary containing at least one Pelican.
• Feed: In addition to coins, you Pelicans sometimes give feed to other animals and birds

How To Get Pelicans

• Pelicans can be bought from FarmVille 2 market once an Aviary is installed on your farm.
