13. Five Nights At Freddy’s World (OK)

FNAF World is the fifth game in the Five Nights At Freddy’s Franchise, although it’s technically a spin-off. In this game, you walk around and explore different areas and biomes, while adding all kinds of different animatronics  you find to your party. 

I ranked this as OK because it doesn’t really do much to add to the whole storyline of the game. It’s something you’d want to play if you didn’t want to get scared. It’s really not a fan favorite at all, it doesn’t get brought up at all when talking about the other FNAF games.

12. Five Nights At Freddy’s: Special Delivery (OK)

At number 12 we have Five Nights At Freddy’s: Special Delivery, which is an Augmented Reality mobile spinoff in the Five Nights At Freddy’s series where the player signs up for the Fazbear Funtime Service, to rent their favorite animatronics on demand. But in typical fashion, something goes wrong and the animatronics are attacking the player instead of entertaining them. 

Special delivery is placed in the OK category just because it’s not as popular as the other games.The one thing I find so interesting about FNAF (and the fandom) is that no one seems to acknowledge that sometimes the victims are at fault like, I’m sorry but why would you ever invite an animatronic into your home? But I guess it’s not their fault that Fazbear Entertainment is evil.

11. Curse of Dreadbear (OK)

In 11th place, we have the Help Wanted DLC, Curse of Dreadbear. It adds new Halloween-themed skins for the animatronics as well as 10 new minigames. It also adds new prizes to the prize corner. 

Obviously, this goes in the OK category because there's not much to it, as a DLC. But I think it’s worth mentioning because of what it adds to the game. If you love Five Nights At Freddy’s and Halloween at the same time, I would definitely recommend grabbing Help Wanted and this DLC.

10. Five Nights At Freddy’s 2 (GOOD)

Five Nights At Freddy’s 2 holds a place in a lot of fans’ hearts with it being one of the first games in the franchise, of course. It is a prequel to the first Five Nights At Freddy’s game, where you have to survive against old and new animatronics, this time, without doors. 

The reason that I placed this game in the GOOD category is that while it’s a good source of nostalgia and references and memes for the fandom, there are many FNAF games that have more to offer. However, I do enjoy the lore aspect of it! 

9. Five Nights At Freddy’s 3 (GOOD)

Five Nights At Freddy’s 3 is actually kind of underrated if you ask me. I feel like fnaf-based content creators, game writers, etc don’t talk about this game even though it’s a Certified Classic. FNAF 3 is set inside of Fazbear's Fright Attraction and you’re the night guard, yay! But ultimately you end up having to fight off unimaginable horrors and stay alive despite the janky systems. 

I rank this as GOOD because while it is one of my favorite games, I still have others that top it, plus you deal less with animatronics and more with hallucination, unlike the other games. While some people may argue that that’s what makes it unique, in my opinion it’s a little underwhelming. 

8. Help Wanted (GOOD)

Help Wanted is a collection of old and new mini-games that can be played with or without VR. It’s your job to repair ventilation systems and troubleshoot animatronics, or you could be like me and cower in the office the whole time. 

I put Help Wanted in the GOOD category because like, yes it’s a good game but it’s definitely not one of my favorites or something I’ve played often. What I do like about it is the addition of Glitchtrap and the introduction of Vanny, but that’s just a theory. 

7. Sister Location (GREAT)

Five Nights At Freddy’s: Sister Location is the fifth installment in the franchise. In this game, instead of being the night guard at Freddy Fazbear’s, you’re the night guard at Circus Baby’s Pizza World and it’s one of the first games where you can roam, although you’re mostly crawling. You get to deal with new animatronics such as Circus Baby and Ballora, and new versions of old animatronics such as Funtime Freddy and Funtime Foxy. 

I ultimately decided to put Sister Location in the GREAT category because it’s one of my favorite games of all time. I don’t play it much because the Funtime Freddy part is so scary. That’s all it is, really. It’s also a common favorite among fans!

6. Five Nights At Freddy’s 4 (GREAT)

Five Nights At Freddy’s 4 is (obviously) the fourth installment in this franchise. What makes it a little different from the other games is that, instead of playing a security guard, you’re playing as a young child. On top of that, you’re inside of a house rather than a pizzeria. 

This game was a turning point in the FNAF franchise, in my opinion. This was the first game where you could move around, with limits of course. Which made it ten times scarier! I placed FNAF 4 in the GREAT category because of how scary yet beloved it is. 

5. Five Nights At Freddy’s: Security Breach (GREAT)

Security breach came out in December 2021 and it was a groundbreaking edition to the Five Nights At Freddy’s franchise! In this game, you play as a kid named Gregory who gets locked in the Mega Pizzaplex and now has to protect himself from animatronics and…the night guard??? 

This game has a lot of mixed reviews and I think that putting this in the GREAT category is a little bit controversial. While it’s true that this game did have a lot of glitches and bugs, I am a firm believer of understanding the plot and putting two and two together. I really enjoyed the easter eggs and references to previous games in the franchise AND the fact that the player gets to roam completely free. 
 

4. Five Nights At Freddy’s (BEST)

At number four and starting off the BEST category, we have the first Five Nights At Freddy’s game. A simple indie game dropped in 2014, where all you had to do was sit in the office, check the cameras, and stay alive until 6 a.m. 

I think it’s pretty obvious as to why I put this game into the BEST category. The first game is what kicked this whole fandom off. This game managed to make jumpscares and four fuzzy animatronic friends very popular among children then AND now. 

3. Pizzeria Simulator (BEST)

Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator is a fun little game where you can create your own pizzeria, complete with your very own animatronics and lawsuits! You also get to pull scrap animatronics from strange alleyways and test them out, to see if you can put them to use!

This is definitely a lighter game compared to the other games, but it still has its scary moments. Let’s just say if I ran a pizzeria my animatronics would be bolted to the floor like at Chuck E. Cheese’s. I put Pizzeria Simulator in the BEST category because it’s a lighter game with horror elements expertly placed throughout the game. But it catches your attention when you least expect it and then drops the best lore.

2. Security Breach: Ruin (BEST)

This DLC came out in July this year and completely blew it out of the water. In this addition to Security Breach, you play as Cassie, a friend of Gregory’s who is responding to his call saying he’s trapped in the pizzaplex! You have to go in and follow Gregory’s instructions but…nothing is as it seems. 

This game honestly added so much to Security Breach and the lore in general. Going around, you can pick up little comic strips that Gregory drew and piece them together into a story and you get so many collectibles. A very jarring part of the whole game though is just how dilapidated and discombobulated the animatronics have become. I know that wasn’t ALL Gregory. It’s in the BEST category because it managed to make improvements to a game that a lot of fans complained about. 

1. Ultimate Custom Night (BEST)

In first place, we have Ultimate Custom Night! Ultimate Custom Night is William Afton's personal hell, where he chooses which animatronics torture him round after round, with custom difficulties. This game is supposed to be a mashup game for fun, but as always there’s lore.

This game is number one for several reasons. One, players get introduced to new and silly animatronics and characters such as Mr. Hippo or Trash and gang. Two, I love that Scott Cawthon made a game that’s basically William Afton’s hell. Because let’s not forget that he is the true villain, not the animatronics.
