Much of the admiration for the skins in Guild Wars 2 usually go to the two-handed and main hand weapons like the usual swords, daggers, hammers, and longbows. It is a different story entirely when we talk about the more niche offhand items like the torch which definitely needs more love and attention because there are in fact some sleeper hits there. The following torch skins are not just effective in battle but are also pretty freaking awesome and hot, pun absolutely intended.

10. Fate of Menzies

Before he was a total douchebag that, spoilers, killed your player character (don't worry, you get better), and stole your baby dragon, he wasn't an entirely genocidal god. He had an evil brother named Menzies who he fought at the Fissure of Woe. Not much is known on what happened, but with the Fate of Menzies torch, one can only assume what happened in the aftermath. To be honest, even those who studied the lore have no clue, but just go with it for now.

Why they are awesome

• The Fate of Menzies is a gothic-inspired torch that resembles a large demonic skull.
• According to the lore of Guild Wars 2, Menzies was the evil half brother of the human food, Balthazar, and this torch seemingly tells us what may have happened to him.

9. Wintersday Torch

Wintersday is simply a joyous festival and occasion for many in the Guild Wars 2 community. It is a time for celebration and family get-togethers (with them playing together in-game of course), and tons of merry cheer. Nothing shines brighter than having a torch that symbolizes the burning love we have for those we care for than the Wintersday Torch and its quaint little design.

Why they are awesome

• Upon wielding the Wintersday Torch, you can hear what sounds like the sound of sleigh bells or chimes, perfect for the holiday season.
• The Wintersday Torch resembles six candles placed on a candle holder that light up upon being wielded. The flame particles are put out when the player stows away the weapon.
• The overall design of the actual grip of the Wintersday Torch is very ornate. It replicates the classic styles of candleholders that were designed in the old days with them being made from steel,

8. Ley Line Torch

According to the Guild Wars 2 wiki, the ley lines are the very channels that magic flows around the world in and is distributed from. Others lovingly call them the magical pipeline that fuels the world. No matter what you call them, the Ley Line Weapon set honors this cool little world feature that you can take with you wherever you go, and the Ley Line Torch is one of the perfect weapons to bring with you. 

Why they are awesome

• The debris that forms the actual torch head magically floats in the air as it revolves around the core of the torch.
• When the torch is wielded, arcane magic erupts as the torch lights up in a beautiful blue and purple flame.
• You can hear the distinct sound of ley lines when the torch is activated by the player.

7. Fractal Torch

The Fractals of the Mists or FotM is one of Guild Wars 2's end game content that players can't get enough of. 6. Favor of the Colossus

You just love to see it when a fan wins a "Design A Weapon" contest and gets their design made in-game for everyone to enjoy and use. This was the case for one of the three contestants, Mike Bacchin, who designed the Favor of the Colossus. Their design is immortalized in Guild Wars 2 and is always ready for players to collect.

Why they are awesome

• The weapon’s design fits the motif of the weapon: the chained hands of the colossus which can be found in the Cliffside Fractals.
• The chains that you see on the Favor of the Colossus moves along with the weapon and player.
• The light that comes from the torch emanates from the center of the hands and shines in a soothing light purple once activated.

• The Shadow Torch is one of the more ominous torches on the list with its dim, dark flames burning.
• This offhand torch is perfect for dark aesthetic players or professions that suit violet flames like Mesmers, and the Necromancer's elite specialization, the Scourge.
• The actual torch is designed to look more sinister than it actually is and may intimidate those unsuited to wield dark flames.

• The Touch of Madness torch is actually an invisible torch and just makes your hand erupt in flames when wield it.
• Upon wielding the weapon, it makes a sound of charcoal lighting up as your hand begins to glow bright red and erupts.
• If you wait for awhile, you may notice that some particle sparks may fly while wielding the Touch of Madness.

No matter what challenges await you, know that this awesome skin will shine your way forward even in the thickest darkness.

Why they are awesome

• The Vermilion Tail Feather moves and sways like how an actual giant feather would as it is being wielded.
• Upon being wielded by the player, you can hear the distinct cawing sound of a phoenix as it flies from the torch up toward your head before it disappears.
• It is a beautiful phoenix feather that burns a bright crimson red. The actual torch handle has its own intricate design where the handle resembles the talons of the phoenix grasping at the feather.

2. Rodgort

Nothing screams freaking awesome torch skin like one that is modeled after a dragon's head. Rodgort is one of the best looking offhand legendary weapons not just because of its beastly aesthetics, but also its fun animations. Once this burninator is within your grasp, you will reminisce about the times you burninated the countryside and peasants. Bonus points to anyone who can guess that reference.

Why they are awesome

• Aside from the fact that it is a legendary weapon with all the abilities they all share with one another, as a skin, Rodgort is a torch designed like a dragon head that, when wielded, lights up and becomes fiery red with flames spewing from its mouth. Once sheathed, the head cools off and dims as its mouth closes.
• When The Moot is unsheathed, swirling flames engulf the player's arm and has a distinct sound effect as if a stove flame has been lit.
• An additional thing to notice is that the dragon head can be seen moving ever so slightly as it emits fire as if it is alive.
• As you are carrying the weapon on your character, you leave behind flaming footfalls as you move around.
• All of the projectiles that come from this weapon are changed from the standard model to Rodgort.

At the very top of the best and most awesome torch skins on our list is none other than the newest legendary torch, Aurene's Breath. Where else can you claim that you have the power of a star in front of your hands, Commander?

Why they are awesome

• Aside from the fact that it is a legendary weapon with all the abilities they all share with one another, as a skin, Aurene's Breath is designed to look like crystaline feathers that adorn a shimmering crystal handle.
• When Aurene's Breath is unsheathed, a crystal dragon swoops down toward you from the sky, infusing the weapon with a shimmering aura as an explosion of light crystals erupt. 
• As you are carrying the weapon on your character, a unique sound effect constantly plays as if a divine light surrounds your weapon. 
• While moving around with Aurene's Breath, you leave behind shimmering light crystals as footfalls.
• The flame that sits inside the feathers is actually a small star that glows brightly, guiding the player even in the darkest areas and jump puzzles.
• Majority of the projectiles that come from this weapon are changed from the standard model to being that of Aurene's Breath and a rainbow trail effect.
• The arm that carries this weapon is enveloped in a prismatic glow similar to the benevolent Elder Dragon Aurene.
