10-Chickens

The Chicken is a farm animal that lives in a Coop. Chickens can be purchased at Marnie's Ranch or hatched by placing an Egg into an Incubator, taking about 6 in-game days to incubate, or about 3 days with the Coopmaster Profession. Chickens are colored White, Brown, or Blue. The Blue variety can be obtained only after seeing Shane's 8-heart event. The color of the chicken is assigned randomly by the game when a chicken is purchased or hatched, so restarting a day after hatching a chicken may produce a different color.

When choosing a coop from Marnie's Ranch, the color of a chicken is displayed. The player is advised to cancel the order so they can try again for the desired color when selecting the chicken based on color.

Because white and blue chickens lay white eggs and brown chickens lay brown eggs, it makes a difference in completing the Community Center Bundles, especially if Remixed Bundles is not selected at the start of the game.
In an incubator, a Void Egg must develop into a Void Chicken. TA Void Egg can be acquired in three different ways. Randomly, a Witch will fly over one of the Big or Deluxe Chicken Coops while you're sleeping, leaving a Void Egg for the next morning.  As long as the user owns a Big or Deluxe Coop that is not full, the random event can initially happen. If you're married to Shane, you can also give him a Void Egg. Last but not least, players can pay Krobus 5,000g in The Sewers for a Void Egg.

Why Chickens are Great:

  • There are several kinds for players to purchase over time in their gameplay, allowing for a variety of flocks.

Cows who eat every day mature after 5 nights have passed. A mature and fed cow produces Milk every day. Milk does not vary depending on the color of the Cow, unlike Eggs.
